Just out of curiosity, why do you think that skin tags result from being "fat"? Anyway, there must be a dermatology clinic sonewhere in Pattaya that's not in a hospital.

I was going to say the hospital..... being the best bet.

Most of the skin clinics seem to be geared towards complexion problems...pizza faces and whitening.

Although I do like some of the girls that hang about out front trying to get the customers in in their short tight skirts... nearly as good as the eye places... and the way prices are going in GGBs may soon be my only source of entertainment!

Try Dr. Somnuek Clinic on Central Pattaya Road. 0817827970. 038425288. I have used him a few times to remove moles. His card even says Skin tags. It a small building on the left side of Central. I do recal how far down but it is past 2nd.

Many options

Several clinics will laser them for you

There is a stall at Thappraya weekend night market that'll remove em for you if you're feeling bold

Bolder still - a new set of nail clippers cauterised in boiling water and D.I.Y.

  • 2 weeks later...

i had one removed last year. awkward place - left of my spine. kept snagging it. thought I'd try the youtube tie some thread round the base method which her indoors claimed her mother had used before. All it did was bleed and get infected and ruin some shirts. So, off to clinic to have it removed [uK not Thailand]. 20 min job, all in. Needle into surrounding skin to anesthetize. Then they scalpel it off. And causterise with laser. said there'd be a burn mark forever. it's a small albeit noticeable mark. Nothing major.

edit - oh and they're not caused by fat. or dirt as some people seem to think.

Do they freeze them off or cut them off or what? 'Also don't understand what skin tags have to do with obesity.

I looked it up. Apparently, obesity is a risk factor, but that's about it. You can still get them, even if you're not obese. I had one remove the last time I was at a dermatologist. A small shot to numb the area and he burned it off. Problem solved.

Can somebody post a picture of one of these skin tags? I have no idea what you're talking about.

I could google it, I suppose, but encourage the OP or respondents to provide some support for these stories.

:yikes:

I agree... but now realise what we are discussing and that I have seen them many times, often facial.

Although I am having to keep my imagination in-check regarding the posted pic!

Have had a few removed by a (dermatologist), always by the anesthetic/scalpal method. A few biopsied. Tried the DIY freeze-off method: totally ineffective. Same for the tree oil method.

my mate had one between his butt cheeks [!] which kept bleeding. few days before clinic apt it fell off of its own accord which can happen. normally harmless although they can be unsightly. i didn't know I had mine until GF pointed it out.

Most certainly unattractive.

Looks like someone with leprosy sneezed on you.
