After the Fed in the USA announced it's 'tapering' on bond buying, the baht fell, and this morning we see a Yahoo price of 32.6 /US$ and 53.2/£ and maybe more for that Euro thingy Germany has too!

I shall be interested to see what the banks are offering at 8.30am today...(oops it is Saturday!)

With elections not until February and possible protests on Sunday that will keep the pressure on the baht.

Is it worth sending some money over here and getting it tied up amidst all the seasonal holidays.?

An opportunity for 5 baht price increase on a beer in a GGB?

With more baht available to you tourists please play the LDOP with gusto and send a draft over to the curly haired little guy being neglected in a corner.

Of course we Expats have lost value in our homes and baht holdings, so we will carry on griping!

It's cold out too!

Stop moaning and go take a swim in your pool , i hope it's heated.......... :D

I did yesterday, it was bloody freezing, took me 20 minutes to stop shivering.

I even waited until afternoon hoping it would be warmer.

No it doesn't have a heater................:D

Measured the water about 24 DegC......felt like 24 Deg F although it would be ice of course!

I know, I know, Sympathy can be found between Shit and Syphilis in the dictionary!! :D

P.S. you're not starting to wear a jacket when it's 22 degrees Celsius outside, are you? ;-)

No, not yet.

But I have started wearing a T-Shirt around the house and when I went out the other day on the bike I put a shirt over a T-Shirt USA style, I was still cold as it was early.

I would like to see 45 baht to the dollar again.

I am actually going to hang on before I do a transfer, I think 55 baht/£ will be seen soon.

54.24 for a TT at SCB.... Yahoo showing 54.6/£, 32.96/US$.....45/Euro.

Had a transfer to K-bank post today (2 January) at 32.68 to the USD.

That's interesting..I've been looking at K-Bank published rates and they are nowhere near that. I was waiting for them to go over 32, but they haven't on their website.

Oops..just noticed the Last Updated date...Dec 13!

I have stopped a long time ago trying to predict the market. Luckily, I did not panic during the GFC and after taking a big hit, I have recovered nearly all of my losses in the stock market. I had a good run with the Aussie Peso for the last few years, getting more than 30 THB for the $A for a long time. Now it is around the 28 THB mark, as the Australian treasury has been working hard to get the currency lower to stimulate exports. I believe they want it to go as low as 80 cents to the US$. Never mind. I think I will have enough sheckels left to last me out and leave enough for the missus after they cremate me at the temple in Soi Watboon. :thumbup

Bollox....back below 54 baht/£ for a TT now.

More to do with £ weakening than Baht recovery.

I'll tell you when I do my next transfer..... The pound will sky rocket the next day. I can predict that with a certainty gained from years of miss judgements

I know the feeling after having bought a condo in the U.S. at the beginning of 2007.

All (most?) Of the exchange booths at Suvarnabhumi were selling baht at 31.33 to the USD last night. The K-bank outlet just east of Soi 15 had 31.90 to the USD this morning.
