Attractions information needed

Recommended Posts

Well I have been to Thailand quite a few times and have been on a few trips but this one is a different one and need help from the board. I have company this time in the form of my 2 daughters in their 20's so any of the usual stuff will be more than discreet if at all! Anyway I am unsure if I will be staying in Pattaya or Bangkok for a period and also Phuket and a trip to Cambodia, so the first trip I want to do is the death railway (Kanchanaburi) stay on the river cabins the breakfast on the river towed by the barge and do the usual visit there also I believe the tiger sanctuary with the monks maybe close by? I also want to include an elephant ride for them. So any suggestions as to the best place of contact (reasonable) for this to be arranged?

Also reasonable accommodation in Bangkok as I want to do the floating market china town the temples and royal palace etc there too. I know Pattaya well enough to arrange accommodation there if I travel down .

All help gratefully received.

If staying in Bangkok take them to the anicient Siam place (copies of all major temples in Thailand) and should be done in a full day. Another attraction in Bangkok is the Bangkok water park has a big wave pool and several amusement style rides (including one rollercoaster ride I would not dream of going on - YIKES)!

Didn't really like Chiang Mai when we went in March this year, shopping not really that cheap and the tourist attractions are all over prices as well IMHO.

In Kanchanaburi, stay at the Pong Phen Guesthouse - Google it or check out on Facebook - fantastic accommodation, food and service, and right in the heart of things. You can book for all the tourist traps right there, but may get them cheaper at some of the booking places within a hundred metres of the guesthouse. The Tiger Temple, Hellfire Pass, the Bridge over the River Kwai, Erawan Falls, a ride along the famous Burma railway in the train are all within easy reach. In Bangkok, there are literally hundreds and hundreds of place to see and to stay (some good ones above), but if you'd like to stay somewhere real quiet, have a look at Charlie House Pinklao. It's a bit out of the way over in Pinklao, but ferries are easily accessible, as is the train to Kanchanaburi (a good experience in itself, and real cheap), and, of course, taxis are plentiful and not expensive to inner Bangkok city.
