Jomtien One Way from November 12

I suppose Thai now copy the many farangs who park where they want, preferably in front of their bar, regardless the fact that they park in the middle of a curve, or that there is already an other car parked on the opposite side of the street. Soi Buakhao is a very good example of this bad farangs' attitude :(

Farangs teaching Thais bad parking habits. You are dreaming buddy.

I agree, having been stuck behind a parked truck for a while on that very street the other day.

I think a one way beach road will work fine. The idiots will be able to drive at 120 KPH or faster rather than only 100 KPH. Unless the cops watch for idiot speeders, I think there will be far more fatalities.

And the parked truck was a Falang?

Yes, I believe he went to an ATM there!

Yes, I believe he went to an ATM there!

I believe he learnt this from the Thais. If someone does something like this back home there would be horns going and abuse being yelled at minimum.

Yes, but he did it himself, oblivious to all others. Don't get me wrong, the Thais do say 'he is not my brother', ie are very self focussed, but farangs are just as capable of being self centred. From the Russian pushing into the BigC queue, refusing to shuffle up on the baht bus, to the German in his BMW parking right before the main entrance to the Mall, and others putting their feet up on tables. Dare I mention smokers for fear of a bun-fight. :D

Heard rumors that the 1-month test is postponed to January... ??

Well, since this change has turned into a non-starter, I'm going to go for the double parking discussion.

Soi Buakhao double parked wrong way...must make delivery!

If you rode the whole length of that street during the day you would see an instance like this guaranteed. Very little chance it would be a falang. To say we have taught Thais bad driving/parking habits is just absurd.

I was thinking the same as Atlas2 as I drove down Jomtiem Beach Rd, the wrong way yesterday! :D

Surely false starts is not a safe way to go!

Harro, I think it has been mentioned that falangs do also block soi Buakhao, probably in proportion to the ratio of Thai to falang drivers.

To say the falangs learned it from the Thais is also absurd, they discovered for themselves that they too could get away with it, so their own selfish nature won out.

Good one, atlas2. There is probably no reason to disbelieve a Thai girl when she says Thai men are inconsiderate, when it comes to driving or having sex..

Not that it is a subject I discuss often, but I have heard them say Thai men are 'small but have power'!

Yes, perhaps the work on Soi Watboon and Chaiyapruek will be completed by then too.
