Now they are tearing up Jomtien beach pathways

Recommended Posts

Recently, another boondoggle redo of the beach has begun in Jomtien.

Right now it goes from the Thappraya intersection to about Soi 8 Beach Road.

Bloody vandals!

Jomtien was my favourite early morning walk, they had a lovely concrete path on the beach, in the shade of nice old trees. By the time these morons have finished, there will hardly be a tree left, and no shade.

Tree are capital assets in the tourism business, destroying them is stupid.

I've been mentioning this for a while......My morning walk has been buggared. It's a mess. They have created spaces at intervals in the concrete for planting something...........maybe.

My other worry is that there will be nowhere for the hordes that swamp Jomtien at week ends to park. Forcing many to clutter the side roads or 2nd road and jam things further.

Well of course it is a holiday weekend now. So perhaps you can tell us about it on Monday if the rain hasn't kept everyone away.

There's still lots of space available as they have only gotten about 200 metres along from the Police box.

I used to have reason to park on Jomtiem front near the boat ramp, and when I came back I was often blocked in by parked boats waiting to be towed home I guess. It was annoying but the guys were fairly accommodating about shuffling them around to give me a gap.

Well if I wanted to go to the bank Pattaya is nearer, do they have one in Jomtiem?

I often visit bars on Soi 4 and 5. The last time, I had to pay for my parking at the Jomtien Thani Hotel. I used to give the guard 20 baht and now he insisted on 40 baht. I don't know what they are doing along Beach Road but as of now, it is all torn up. If they are sacrificing parking, it is going to hurt the businesses in that area. There is a limit as to how far I will walk from a parking space to get to those businesses.

My mind had gone somewhere much more dramatic .....But......

Yes I can imagine it now......Midnight, your long suffering teelack snoring next to you....You still sitting up in bed with the lamp on, string vest, flat cap, reading July's edition of, 'know your Fish'

Domestic bliss!!

Good for you!
