"Meet and Greet" for "paupers"! at Suvarnbhum Airport

Recommended Posts

Best mix for Cattle Class travel is FF Gold card and BFS meet with the buggy

The Gold card gets your luggage (and lots of it) 'Priority', so if all comes right its a cart ride up to fast track, a lively immigration transit, bags among first off the belt, and a painless escorted march through customs

I am a loyal fast track customer. I have little interest in waiting for up to an hour to get through the line after flying for 20 hours. I book the car service as well with the fast track. I just walk out the door and into the car. As easy as it gets.

  • 1 month later...

Are there any reputable companies selling the Meet& Greet Fast Track thing?

I'm taking 2 friends to Bangkok with me then on to Vietnam, one of whom isnt too good on his legs. We would realy want one of the buggy things if possible.

As were getting in on the 0530 TG911flight, Immigration will probably be packed solid so getting through immigration faster would also be worth paying for.

Where did you book the BFS ?

Posted from my mobile so I blame any spelling errors on that.

Marry a Thai. No more immigration queues because you go through that with her.

Don't you take advantage of that by going through immigration with her? I'm pretty sure I did this the last time I went to Thailand?

Yes I forgot to add that! It would help!

When I check in at our airport. I tell the check in clerk my wife needs a wheelchair or cart. They have one waiting for us at our destination.

I'm not sure how BigD gets away with that without prior booking! But if your friend genuinely struggles with mobility, including long distances, the wheelchair assistance should be arranged in advance (at least 48 hours prior to flight). UK airports will allow you to push him if you wish, not sure about others. I used the service once with a cracked ankle, where, although I could hobble around reasonably well, the long distances involved at both Thailand and Abu Dhabi were a bit of a struggle. I was told then, that the motor carts were not an option for that service; but that could be just Abu Dhabi.

I arrived last night at 2.45 am on a totally jammed China Eastern flight from Shanghai. I can't remember if it was the East or West Immigration Control. but the feeder "snake" was full to the entrance. I had a Premium Lane voucher, but even the premium lanes had far more people than usual, at least 30-40 queuing. I moved to the other IC point about 150 m further on. Not many people in the ordinary queue and only three ahead of me at the premium lane.

Because of the long lines at immigration (and the airline hadn't had arrival cards to hand out), the baggage from the flight had clogged the carousel and had been moved off by Thai staff. Hundreds of suitcases were awaiting collection.

It's nights like that you can be happy to have signed up for Fast Track.

Is there more than one premium lane? I thought there was only one, located between the two "regular" ICs.

I've booked a wheelchair numerous times here in the US and Europe many times without a problem. I never made a prior booking.

Thanks for the replies.

As my wife has a UK Passport she has to go in the queues like the rest of us.

Ive contacted Thai about a wheelchair and they have told me it can easily be aranged but I assume that wont get us through immigration any faster so we will probably have to cough up and pay that BFS rate.

Yep.... that's one of the perks of being married to a Thai... We're through immigration in minutes!!!

On the other hand Mrs Fiend doesn't want a British passport, even though she could get one now, and that means queuing in the Non-EU passport line when we return to The UK after immigration at Manchester stopped letting her go through with me.

Passengers in wheelchairs are allowed to use the Premium Lanes without any charge, but I'm not sure what the policy is regarding accompanying passengers. I believe one person is allowed through with the wheelchair passenger, but not the whole family or group of friends. I saw this happen once Swampy. An elderly lady was in a wheelchair and a group of about ten people wanted to go through the Premium Lane along with her. They were stopped by the Immigration Police, as they didn't have vouchers.

Best to check it out in advance, but it's not always sure you'll get the correct info from the airline as it's all up to the officers on duty that day or night.

The chair user will, but your group won't though. However, even if he choses to stick it out with the rest of you, he will at least have a seat for the long queues.

Thanks for the replies guys. We'll probably just request a wheelchair for him then push him through the long immigration queue. At least we can sit on him if we get tired !

Or you could send him through the "fast track" alone and get him to sort all the luggage out from the carousel in advance for the rest of you! :bhappy Mind, that might look a bit suspicious :ninja: if caught on camera!

UPDATE!!!!!!!

Well my luck is poxed!

Used the service...cant fault it.........very pretty young lady met me after I left the plane, all was fast and very good.

Only trouble was? When i saw the "queues" at immigration? (not the fast track one! but the "normal " one I mean!)........ They were the smallest queues Ive seen in 30 odd years!!

I would use it again though!

Problem for us is, the TG flight gets in at 0530. around the same time as 6 other international flights. last time there we ran from the gate to Immigration and the wait was only 20 minutes but when we looked behind us the queue was enormous and only 2 people on Immigration duty.

Dont they pay overtime??

Thats why i paid the money this time! I "usually" fly with Thai.........and as you say at that time of morning the immigration queue is like Trafalgar square on new years eve!

I came in on the TG911 (cheap seats) from London yesterday at 5.45am. Immigration took about 20 minutes and that was because of a few absolute fucking numpties in my queue who hadn't filled in their landing cards properly, despite them apparently being checked at the end of the immigration snake line. Otherwise it would have been about 10 minutes. Waited another 2 minutes for the bag and and was on my way.
