Looking for Valarian Root

I take a 1000 mg valarian root capsule at night as a sleep aid. Anyone know of a shop in Pattaya that sells it?

That link, with a few extra keystrokes on the "Find International Locations" and selecting "Thailand", will yield 2 locations, one of which is closed (Tops, Beach Road).

 

So, the remaining location is the new "Harbor Mall" on Pattaya Klang.

 

Apparently, they have a GNC store there.

It's actually a "Tops Daily mini supermarket".

 

I looked in this morning and they had a half-empty display of herbal things, mostly marked in Thai.

 

I don't knoow what Valerian Root capsules look like, so I can't be sure if it was there or not.

 

That said, I've always found the pharmacists in Boots in the Royal Garden mall very helpful and they speak reasonable english.

Yeah, you're right. The TOPS I was thinking of was on 2nd Road at Pattaya Klang.

 

BTW, the TOPS in Tuk.Com is remodelling and relocating to the first floor. While in the basement now, they seem to seriously have upgraded their inventory to include more western items. I never shopped at TOPS before, so I don't really know if they just upgraded their display setup (it looks really inviting) or if they actually are striving to upgrade their inventory.

 

There might be a GNC area in that store anyway.

When I went to my local pharmacy, I asked if they had it, and they did. Locally, it's marketed as Valian-X, but the ingredients shown on the back of the box is "Valerian root powdered extract 445mg, eq. to dried root of Valeriana officinalis 2000mg".

 

The box contained 10 capsules and cost 180 baht.

 

The street view location of the pharmacy is https://goo.gl/OeqeXgwhich is on Thappraya Road next to the Family Mart at Soi 5, on the way to Jomtien. . It's along the baht bus route.

 

In the street view picture, the pharmacy is called D&M, but since that picture, it has been renamed Goodwill Pharmacy.
