A question.

When I last stayed at the Areca they had the original hotel (kidney shaped pool in the lobby) and one wing overlooking a second pool. At the time as I looked out from my window at the second pool, there was a vacant lot on the left of my vantage point and I believe it was directly across the pool there was new construction. I now think that that is an additional wing for the hotel.

If you know the hotel, if you can please, tell me the name of each wing, including the original wing, and its location relative to my vantage point.

I think the original wing is what the hotel site calls the Areca tower. I believe that the building I stayed in before was the Corona tower and the new tower is the Evergreen tower but I would like to make sure.

Thanks!

I have been considering the Areca but their site does not show that they have in-room safes.

I have sent off a message on their site but after a couple of days no reply. Can anyone who has been there recently answer my question?

Thanks

Also, what else that is similar is close by?

Had a bad experience at LK Metropole so that is out.

It is at least 3 years ago but the room I had did have an in-room safe.

It also says here that they have safes.

I did not think about looking at an alternate site.

I know it has been eight years since I stayed there and I was certain they have them. I want to book them as my primary haunt will be practically next door.

Thanks again.

edit:

I found a photo of the cupboard with a safe in it on the Areca website.

my ex-wife used to tell me that I think too much.

I refrained from replying to her that she didn't think enough. We evened out for 30 years but she snapped approaching 50.

But yes, I think too much, talk too much and have too much time on my hands now!

124 days until wheels up.

Always select a hotel which has modern electric guest room locks. But there is a disturbing trend of widespread theft from hotel safes widespread. Check if hotel provides yu with escorts to room when required. Safe not to go for hotels located in high crime areas. Keep your valuables in your in-room hotel safes. There are few measures which we can take to ensure safety like mentioned in this article

http://www.calgaryalarm.com/blog/safety-of-belongings/7-ways-to-protect-your-belongings-while-staying-in-a-hotel/. Some hotels provide additional security to your hotel room or resort locker which can only be opened by you with a master key or electronic combination. Now that gives a safe feeling.

No need to be escorted to your hotel room in Pattaya unless you're either blind drunk or a female is escorting you there!.

That construction behind the Sky Fitness gym and Blue Ocean pool is not part of Areca Lodge. It is the Centara Avenue Residence & Suites Pattaya built by the Tulip Group, a combination hotel/condo. The Tulip Group is building another larger hotel/condo project (Golden Tulip Hotel & Residence) across the street on Soi 15 when you exit the Evergreen wing side.

Should that be "was"?
