Have a family member who is looking at buying a condo in Pattaya or Jomtien, he found one in a condo building named Pattaya Klang.

Does anybody know anything about this building?

They live in upper Issan and is looking for pro's and con's before making the trip. TIA

I can tell you what I tell my condo hunting friends;

You have a key that unlocks the door.

You turn on the light switch and the lights come on.

You flush the toilet and it works.

You find out how much the monthly maintenance is. Some condo complexes are rip offs. My condo association charges 10 baht per square meter per month.

You make sure the electricity is billed direct from the electric company. Another possible rip off if not.

If they are buying it to live in, a shoebox is not a good idea. It should have a separate bedroom. Yes, more money but worth it.

I have a pal who has a couple he would like to sell. Pratumnak Hill area, studios. Been trying to sell them for a long time, although he is holding firm on price.

Don't know any named just Pattaya Klang, there is a TW Pattaya Klang.

He needs to decide which area he wants to live first. Being close to a baht bus route is good plus easy access to shops and other things he likes to do. I would be inclined to rent for 6 months or so, check out the noise etc before buying

I'll strongly second this comment. I'd go further and suggest that buying a condo at all is not a sound idea. Renting is cheap and it costs nothing to move if you decide you want to live elsewhere due to noisy neighbours, illegal AirBnB, lack of parking or excessive management fees. A bad condo is a living hell.
