Don't be too quick too spend your Hilton points cheaply. I managed to get 6 nights at the Phuket Hilton Resort for 10k points/night. It was mostly waiting for the opportunity.

I have stayed there on points. No problem with a lady to the room. (I never tried to bring more than one to the room at a time, so I don't know if there's a joiner fee for the second girl).

Interestingly only a few weekends ago I was checking out their on-line menu. A bottle of conchy el toro reservado was over 2.500 baht...Friendship has it at 419 baht..... I think only soda water in Retox has a higher mark up...

On my recent trip i stayed at Hilton Sukumvit 23 for 30,00 points per night ( last year was 50,000 ) but i have never seen Hilton Pattaya below 45,000 points per night or 7500 baht up per night if paying cash. I recall reading on some travel related website that they have averaged 88 per cent occupancy since they opened which would explain why they have no need to discount. Most Hilton hotels will give you an upgrade package ( executive room, free breakfast for two and lounge access ) worth around £100 per night if you are a gold member but some will insist on Diamond status. If you can get the upgrade package then 45,000 points is a good deal as you can get afternoon tea and evening drinks and canapes in the executive lounge This year in Bangkok i got the upgrade package as a gold member but last year when the hotel was much busier they were only giving it to Diamond members

As a Lifetime Diamond I have found this hotel rather tight fisted with upgrades and the executive lounge minimal, I find this hotel to be of poor value and do not even consider it when in Pattaya. In Bangkok I stay at the Conrad (more upscale than Pattaya) frequently and almost always get a suite upgrade, always cheaper rate than the Pattaya Hilton.
