Keep your boarding pass

Recommended Posts

I have just seen a report that to be able to pass through immigration at Bangkok Airport you MUST be in possession of your boarding pass. If you lose it or simply leave it behind on the plane (as I have done in the past) you will have to go to an area behind immigration to get matters sorted out. Not a great problem apparently but one we could all do without.

It seems that the logic behind this is to ensure that you have indeed just got off a plane.  ???

declare nothing - turn in the customs form and head out the door.  NEVER have I been asked for boarding pass in the 30 years I have been going to Thailand

According to a very recent  Pattayaexpats club newsletter, you may be asked to produce your  pass.

But, your airline ticket may be sufficient.

chico.

In the 2000 years I have been flying to Thailand I have never needed my passport. Until I get to Immigration of course.

Arrived 13 Nov EVA, and was asked for my b/pass. Had a sign on desk asking for same. My mate arrived 1 week earlier on Thai, he was not asked. Maybe it's just T 2. Its worth hanging on to it anyway, especialy if you leave something o/board. you can be sure of your seat number, and they make a fair bookmark too !  :o

When me, the wife and daughter arrived at the end of October we were also asked for our boarding cards

I flew in last July and was asked for my b/pass which I had mysteriously lost on the plane :o

With a large queue of people behind me they eventually let me through but I was a little worried for a minute or so.

Its worth hanging on to it just in case.

Having started this post, I had my boarding pass to hand when I approached the Immigration desk on my visit to Thailand last month. It wasn't needed though no doubt had I lost it, it would have been asked for!

I would still keep hold of your boarding pass though - will make life a lot simpler if asked for.
