RIP Thai Limousine Bus, Bangkok-Pattaya

Recommended Posts

When I called into the Thai offices on 3rd Rd to book a bus ticket, I was disappointed to be told that their bus is no longer running :crying

Not too bad for Pty-Bkk as there is always the minibuses, though these are not my favourite option, but for Bkk-Pty the only public transport options now are the A3/Ekkamai/Pty or the metertaxi/MoChit/Pty routes, both arkward if one has bulky luggage.

If this info has already been posted, apologies, I'm enjoying my time so much I haven't been keeping up with the board :D

So what happened to the old Diamond Bus then ?

I never used it but it always seemed good value for money

Collected you from your Hotel and delivered you to your hotel in Pattaya

With their Limo service charge up to around 4000 baht to Pattaya, I won't shed any tears if the whole organization folds. With that price increase I tried a new service this past February and it was only 1000 baht instead of the old Thai Limo charge of 1500 and it was better service.

Redman,

Val gave you the correct info which I had originaly gotten from him. I was very happy with their service and there was one other small charge for parking at the airport which will very slightly depending on how long he has to wait for you. They didn't ask me for any upfront money.

If you walk out the first door on the right after the Thai Limo counter there are some guys there offering new Toyata rides to Patty for 1,500 baht including tolls. look like the same cars Thai limo uses. Very good service. I used it a few weeks ago.

I always use the taxi rank through doors after Thai limo desk.

My GF was aproached by Thai rep for "Limo". I couldn't understand what was said, but rough translation- GF- How much ? THai rep- 1800 bt ! GF- your having a laugh ! I'm not a tourist you know!

At the taxi desk you get a written price 1300bt plus tolls, after 16 hours travelling, that will do me, it always facinates me how the GF chats to driver as if they were old freinds, she decides if they deserve a tip or not, !

Steptoe,

You can travel down from BKK free aboard the Dynasty Inn mini bus, just have to book and pay for two nights at the Inn or Resort hotels. There about B980 per night real nice very clean hotels guest friendly both have pools. The return trip will cost about B340. You will have to get from the airport to Suk Soi 4 your own way.
