I'm coming back to LOS in August for 2 1/2 weeks. I've never stayed at Eastiny Place Hotel, anyone stay there? Any info? I'm thinking of staying my final days at Eastiny Place Hotel, I'll be broke by then and need to save money on my hotel by then. Thanks for any advice.

cheers

KJ,

I stayed there 3 time in 2002 and liked it very much. They do charge a fee if your bringing more than 1 TG back to your room. All rooms have a small balcony. If you can, ask for a room on one of the upper floors. Good size pool, if you like to swim laps. There are plenty of reviews in the hotel section.

KJ- I stayed at the Eastiny Place a couple of years ago for about 2 weeks. I thought it was fine, with a very good location near 2nd Road at the top of Soi 8. Very clean, all tiled floors inside. I stayed on the top floor in the room nearest the soi and could look out and see part of Soi 8 and the foot traffic walking by. They may still be asking if you want a breakfast thrown in for some extra baht which IMO you should pass on, since their breakfasts were nothing special, and several times they tried to charge me for it even though it had been included in the price of the room. They did ask for the women's I.D.'s at the desk, which isn't a problem for me. A word to the staff if you don't like them holding the I.D. is probably all you would need to do. They have safety boxes behind the front desk.

For the price (maybe 650 baht...hard to remember) I thought it was fine, but I've never stayed at Flipper and some of the other popular places, so can't compare it with those. I've only stayed at Diamond Beach Hotel (I got a small, worn room), Honey Inn (or Lodge...a dive IMO, on S. Pattaya between Beach Rd. and 2nd, but at least it was cheap and near Walking Street), Pattaya Centre Hotel (too many tour groups clogging up the elavator and lobby, plus yelling to each other down the hallways), Eastiny Place, and the Residence Garden, which is my favorite so far. A guy named Mark (Marc?) was the manager at that time of EP and also the Eastiny Inn further down the soi towards Beach Rd., and seemed a sharp guy who spoke English well, so if he's still there he'd be a good person to go to if you have any problems.

I've stayed at the Eastiny Place 4 times the past year and can highly recommend the place. Prices vary from 700-900Bht depending on the time of year. Get a room in building B overlooking the swimming pool. Best rooms 701/601/501B as you also get a view down soi8. Never been charged extra for taking more than one lady.

Best.

i stayed at Eastiny Place in December 2003. The room was clean as everyone said. Nothing fancy though. Basic room with bed, dresser and 21" TV. Swimming pool was ok but water was cold. Did not get a lot of sun I don't think. Having stayed at the Jw Marriott the week before it was kind of a dreary place in comparison. But it is close to all of the action on Soi 7 and 8. Next time I think I want to check out Flipper House for a larger room (suite) or may go with Residence Garden as everyone says that is so nice.

Thanks for all the advice guys, it looks like a very nice place, I may be staying there or I may stay at Bella Villa Prima on soi 4. My next trip will be longer than normal 1luv so I'll have to change hotels to save some baht. I'm looking forward to my next trip to LOS. Thanks again.

cheers

FWIW, I stayed there and it was a good buy. Flipper Lodge is another good place on Soi 8.

Kevin,

I always stay at Eastiny Place. I did a review with pics that you can see here on the baord. Just do a search and take a peek in this hotel section.

Have a great trip,

Mark

k;

after reviewing all the commonents before my last trip in march/april, I had decieded on EP. I had to meet a friend in bkk so I stayed there the first few nights before heading to pattaya. ended up taking the free van to pattaya from the dystiny which required a two night stay in pattaya Dynesty so I did, which gave me two days to check out a few hotels. I might of stayed at the dynesty(soi 13) but they where a little high at 1k per night.

I looked at all the soi 8/7 hotels, and although nice one review stuck in my mind on someone who had stayed at the flipper, "don't barfine any girls from soi 8 as you have to parade by them latter and they will see you"

so I stayed on soi 13 which I love the loctation (moved to AA residence for 700 bt)

and barfined tg's from 7/8 and still had to watch which beerbars I walked by.

just something to concider

kjvegas,

Stayed there for the first time during Songkrat period! I was very happy with my stay there except for the fact that when checking out after staying here for 9 nights to leave for Buriram for 3 nights I paid my bill of 750 per night but when I asked to book another 2 nights there when I came back from Buriram they said that I had to pay 850 a night! now I know some of you guys maybe thinking "fucking hell, man! its only an extra 100 baht per night" its just the principle of the matter! plus I book another 6 of my mates in there before they arrived 2 days later than me! but still had to pay 850 and becuase I arrived at 5:00 in the morning instead of 7:00 I was charged another night of 850 baht just for 2 hours! but never the less I was happy with everything else and specially my daily foot massage which I thought was shit hot!!!

Songkrat though! what a pain in the ass!!! never again unless there is a very, very cheap flight fare on the cards!

Ja yen yen!

Hey KJ,

Stayed in Eastiny Place twice. Last time was in Sept. 03. Had to change rooms because of the bad AC. The AC was freezing up. The next room I got had the same problem but they fixed it as soon as I comlained. The rooms are basic but clen. The pool does not get much sun but is larger than most. No charge for visitors and check ID as you come in the lobby. The girls pick the ID in the morning on the way out. I would still stay there again.

Something to lookout for in most hotels I guess. If the girl starts her monthly it could cost you extra. At Eastiny Place, the girl was wearing a towel at night and ruined the towel. Eastiny Place charge me 300 baht for the towel. Almost charged me twice for the towel but I caught the mistake at checkout time. In the Sunshine Hotel had a girl ruin the sheets and had to pay extra for a set of sheets.

Kj Reckon it would be wise to skip the bella on soi 4 ,i was talkin to a guy last week who just moved out of there ,he could not understand how they spent all that money on tha place and then didnt bother to hire a housekeeping dept!! His words were a shit hole!!

Think there are some negative reports on this place in hotel reviews as well.

Why not try sunshine vista on soi 3 ?

With 2 different TG's I've experienced the same problem with the sheets. On both occasions the TG's felt bad and took the sheet into the bathroom and washed it with soap in the tub and hung it out to dry on the balcony. No stains and no charge.

A mate of mine who also was staying at the Eastiny Place burnt a little hole in the bed sheets with his fag! which cost him 2000 baht! yes, thats right 2000 baht!!! fuck was he piss off! but its like I told him they have a no smoking policy in the rooms which he new about! so he was basically fucked! but let me tell you he did not smoke in the room after that I can assure you, LOL! an expensive lesson!

Oh yeah! air con in my room was fucked ! but in all fairness they came with a stand up fan untill the engineer came in the morning to solve the problem!

I've stayed at EP 3 times since Jan 03. Was satisified every time. Had the problem with the girl and the sheets. She just left them and there was no charge. The safe deposit boxes close at 8 pm so beware. Lower floor rooms get some noise from Soi 8.

I had the blood on sheet problem during my last stay at the EP. She did not tell me that "Men Come" and in the morning when I came out of the shower I noticed she had folded up the sheets and I thought this was a little unusual. When I looked they were covered in blood especially where I had been shagging her. No way was I going to try and clean them - I just owned up to the chambermaid and she wrote out a charge note for 650, which was added to my bill.
