  1. Keyman and I enjoyed these guys last night..... I shot a bit of video on my phone but I haven't a clue how to post it here without hosting it somewhere else.
  2. The night I went there were bloody market stalls selling crap and people gawping at them and generally blocking progress.... your route works well if coming from soi 15/Buakhao.
  3. Thanks.. missed it last time, still seeing stars after climbing the steps.
  4. Thanks for that, next time I go I obviously need to look for the specials board as that is where a better option is to be had. I love duck but I too felt having a bit of chopped fruit tossed over it was a bit odd...personally not a fan of mixing fruit with savoury. Nor do I like the habit of leaving tin foil on a baked potato, sure it 'proves' it wasn't microwaved but, well, it is like serving up the peas still in a tin. Good report.
  5. History......
  6. Sharon Stone.
  7. Avoiding a loop-back I will go with Robert DeNero
  8. The Godfather
  9. Back to clear and sunny.. actually quite hot.

  10. Then there is the option of a few nights out locally..... Not too knowledgeable about that myself as my place more to the North, but it seems there has been quite a migration of Expats to the dark side in the last decade as Pattaya loses its lustre and prices itself out of that market.
  11. Apocalypse Now
  12. I believe the ban on non-residents was overturned... there were a lot of Thai tourists inconvenienced! Afraid I can't help further, last time I took my truck over there is ancient history.
  13. You could park the truck right nearby, throw down the tailgate and have a bit of a party. Although I did get told I wasn't permitted to tie my hammock up there. A lot of these old pleasures are no more.
  14. I have used my local driving licence to cover that, not sure if your friend will get one of those.

Now now atlas, we all know multiple orgasms is a dastardly fabriacation by females used to manipulate males, like PMS is.
  16. I think what you suggest Butch covers the best options. I used to live down Soi Siam CC but certainly nowhere near as far as the lake. Getting back and forth without your own transport is a pain, even more-so at the moment as the road is closed! It should get easier to get across Sukhumvit soon as the tunnel construction is nearing completion. As to my case my Mrs would come get me sometimes in my truck...... earlier days it was on the back of her bike, now that was dodgy and we stopped doing it. I would also sometimes get a baht bus to the end of Klang, use the pedestrian crossing, and swap to a M/C taxi at the end of Nerm Plab Wan. I don't speak much Thai but enough to tell them where I wanted to go, how far, and left here, straight etc etc. There is also the option of having the 'Grab' App on a smart phone. (oops sorry Baz, you mentioned that) To be honest, living out there is a pain if you want to spend time in town.
  17. Yes I think so.... or at least the fast flash-bys you get as you wander around. The old guy smoking a cigarette looks very much like a friend of mine.
  18. I liked the video. It isn't a Chang beer advert by any chance?
  19. Err, it's raining!

  20. Yes, my tongue is cheek comment not far off the mark.
  21. Not so cool this morning... season change?

  22. I guess the original fare is £20 + £379 in taxes!
  23. Gary Oldman
  24. Brr a cool 21 DegC this morning. Dogs better get their tatty old T-Shirts on!

  25. Was in there a few nights ago and not overly impressed. Firstly where I was sat I couldn't see any mention of 'specials' and only saw whatever was on the menu to pick from. Rather a limited menu in my mind with a few too many 'standards' on it. Tempted to have a steak but at the price I was concerned whether that would be cooked properly in a pub type environment. Ended up having a lamb burger which was quite good, good chips and well presented. No pics as I don't want to be confused with any food critics. Intrusive entertainment with some guy dressed up like Axel Rose on a bender, yet doing soft rock. Place nearly empty while everywhere nearby was packed!
