  1. In the UK again, cold, wet, dark and dreary.

  2. Isn't that the bank that just made £2.5000,000,000 profit and then announced it will lay off 9000 staff and close 200 branches?
  3. A memorable face... Jack Elam
  4. I do not believe the organ involved is a muscle........ nor would I recommend a whole packet of viagra be taken at once, it will reduce blood pressure significantly.
  5. Guess what, used already here!!! Still on Tyrone Power
  6. Your exact same question has already been posted by another BM earlier this month! Here is is and the answers still apply.
  7. Dealing with intermediaries is a pain as I am finding out. The airline and the intermediary point at each other and it is hard to make progress. I have been told I am entitled to a refund, but it will take 8-12 weeks. I responded with oh, you mean up to 1/4 year! When the clock started on that countdown I am unsure too. Expedia inform me it is 'carrier policy'......
  8. Off topic stuff removed....
  9. T'iinternet. I uses Skyscanner and then see where that takes me. Last time it pushed me towards Expedia Thailand and I booked through them. I actually used a Thai CC though so maybe that would be a block with you. I too used to use Massic, and am concerned wrt using others in case some oink in their office cancels behind my back and takes the money, it does happen. If it is just a relatively local hop you are considering you should try Air Asia. I booked my last Biz Class fare to Hong Kong directly with Cathay.
  10. Well for contrasts sake... I visited BHP the other day. In through the main door, immediately a very attractive young lady offered to help me, I handed over my card and told her the specialist type I wanted to see. (I like this approach, you get to see a specialist in a particular field rather than a GP, and being perhaps referred). She said please sit down in a comfy chair so I didn't have to join the riff-raff at the reception desk. After 10 minutes she retuned with a slip and my card and said please go up to a particular floor in building D. Had to wait 2 minutes for the elevator. Up there I presented my slip, and was told to wait, I was called after 2 minutes to go get the vitals checked and recorded, seems to be necessary every time you visit. Sit and wait again, for 10 minutes and called again to see a doctor. After seeing him asked to sit and wait and I made myself a free coffee. A lady then escorted me down to the ground floor cashier, here I waited 15-20 minutes before I was called, presented with the bill, money taken from my credit card, then immediately to the lady nearby to receive prescribed medication, 2 items. Total cost 2271 baht, including the 2 lots of pills, in and out within an hour. (Breakdown added later.....) 1431 Baht for medication (10% discount!) 50 Baht for 'Medical Equipment' I can only think it was for the ahhh-stick or his disposable gloves. 190 Baht Packaged Medical Charge, best guess the nurse taking my BP, asking me my weight and not caring of my height. 600 baht Physician Charge. This time it wasn't suggested I had any expensive scans! Your 'appointment' comment seems to tie in with what I was told happens at The Queen Sirikit up in Sattahip.... everyone gets an 8am 'appointment' but it is really first come and then queue.
  11. Richard Egan (24hr)
  12. For those in Thailand... EPL is back on True for the next 3 years at least. CTH have lost it. In Thai Thai Visa
  13. Put a date on that BigD, things change and recent reports aren't so good.
  14. I will be searching for one in a few weeks, either round trip ex UK or one way if I can get a sensible price. I generally start here and then try the best-fit's airline sites. No Expedia or similar for me as I didn't get a refund yet from the last flight I was forced to cancel.
  15. It is just I know of one large property close to me. Most of the agent search engines I have tried come up with nothing when I put selective fields in and considering the number of places up for sale these days I can only conclude they don't work very well....
  16. Why not put a few details here and see if something comes back?
  17. That would be the same one I think, East of Nong Nooch (inland).... there was another place opened up Rt #36 near the Bira racetrack called Splashdown, Web Page..., Also, which may be the one you are thinking of, Cartoon Network Amazone, located on the RHS heading south (Sea side) of Sukhumvit, before you get to Nong Nooch. Website.
  18. No, this is a much newer and larger park further out of town near Bang Saray.
  19. Just had an email advertising UP TO 50% OFF SALE Link Eg Bkk-London, Economy B24,875, Book by: 31 July 2016 Travel between: 15 September 2016 and 31 May 2017. The 'catch' appears to be you need to book quickly.
  20. A hole in one at the 19th?
  21. I think Mistys did it and Penthouse.
  22. Oh and just to show how out-of-touch I am with all this shopping that has arrived in Pattaya: on Tuesday I decided I was going to do a couple of Malls looking at phones. I was wary as I knew it was Asatha Bucha day so town would be filled with tourists, many of who were Bangkok drivers who seem to come to town with 'kill a falang on a motorbike' on their 'to do' list, but I had little else to do! Days like this there is not much parking...... Central Festival Beach Rd does not open until 11am, they don't even let you into the parking area.... you can get into the car park ... but not the parking spaces for bikes! So I exited and went to Tops, parking behind there was always easy and quite convenient. They have taped it all off, during a time when parking is sorely needed, they tape a major piece of it off. Only in Thailand. Managed to shuffle up a couple of bikes at the side of the Cool House and walked back towards the mall, had to wait outside with 20-30 others for 11am, when they opened. It is packed with shoppy types, so you never know, this new direction for Pattaya may well work out! The most pleasant thing, was leaving, and getting over to the dark side of Sukhumvit where I felt safer on the bike, away from the red-light jumpers and sods who think they own the roads. Today the 5 day holiday is over, it looks cloudy and may rain, good.
  23. Good report, thanks.
  24. I like these rainy nights and cool mornings.

  25. No 'Manchester' comes up yet on their booking engine. I believe it will start April 2017.
