This is the place on Sukhumvit, on the corner of Soi 42. I often turn there and cut through via soi Sophon to 3rd Rd. There is (or was) a big 10ft statue of a Muay Tai boxer there, I wonder if they are selling it, would look great in my garden! The restaurant on the side seemed to do a good trade, well not any more. Some talk on Thai Visa that the ACs had all been serviced and one of the compressor units started the fire. Good job it didn't happen while the place was open.

Were those pics taken before or after the heavy rainstorm we had Tuesday? Just wondering as I believe it was enough to cause flooding on Sukhumvit near Tai.

It wouldn't surprise me, the taxis there are running an overpriced and limited service, I do hope this is not true, not an easy place to get around without your own transport or a rented bike. I have taken my truck over there but it was a long long time ago. What will be the point of the RORO ferries then? They will lose business. I doubt they would stop locals taking their cars after a drive from Bangkok, I am guessing they want to stop 'taxis' to support their overpriced local ones.

How much is it now, I seem to recall paying about 850 baht per box previously, although nearer 1000 last trip? I used to take my brother 2 boxes every trip and he would use one and sell the other to pay for his beer, I seem to recall each box would cost £80+ in the UK. My sister recently surprised me and asked for rolling tobacco instead of Embassy Regal, it appears she has taken to roiling them in the UK due to the price of regular cigarettes. Has the supply of 'smuggled' ones in the UK dried up these days? I always laugh at the so called duty free price of tobacco (and perfumes for that matter) in UK airport duty free shops, way more than many other places around the world, and some items not cheaper than WH Smiths on the High St.

Claiming from £1200 Biz with Turkish from my destination. Can't really look at the details as it isn't an on-line booking engine, more a send enquiry type of approach.
