True issue a special SIM card (Inter SIM) that had good rates, particularly to land lines, for many countries. You use 00600 +country code etc. I have found it to be better than Skype.

I last had a snack in Shenanigans, The Avenue, which I believe is now called Acorn. I thought their prices were too high for Pattaya, but was early enough to get some special on pints of Heinekin which worked out rather well. I have always felt annoyed at non-GGB places that charge GGB prices for a beer, it extends beyond Irish pubs to hotels and some beer-bars these days.

What do you think this really means?
jacko replied to MM's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Well the power of the flush is more to do with the tank arrangement, but I do recall years ago, in many a GGB, there was no water coming in and the tank took forever (if it ever did) to fill. When you gotta shit in Thailand you gotta shit! I now carry a small towel and think the bum washers are far better anyhow. MM must be bored and has a new hobby of taking pictures in toilets! -
opening a bank account in Pattaya?
jacko replied to loveless's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
My point is French don't work very long hours! Those that are must be the immigrants. The comment was 'in my mind'....... as I was communicating with a friend, who was at the time working in Paris on contract. He complained he was only able to work 35 hours/week, and they were always on holiday for one reason or another and he was wasting money shooting off to the UK for the long weekends. -

Baps then, or maybe a stottie cake in the NE. But I was playing with the 'balmy' double entendre'. I will be over there myself soon. Many thanks for the good wishes.- 35 replies

I think signs you see in English arounD Thailand are often amusing. I spotted one recently in Soi Honey Inn, Pattaya that made me wonder if it was done on purpose to get attention. ROOM FOR RENT FREE WIFE.

Maybe we shouldn't associate lifting weights and body-building with mathematical ability.

Sometimes a matter of space in these bedsit studio places.....the preference being to the sofa as it can be utilised to dump the drunk mate!

Well I have a recollection of a pop up once when I was selecting my seat that asked me those questions, but point taken. The emergency exit seats in Biz class, upstairs with KLM were my favourite for a long time. I am still unpersuaded that arriving at the airport 3 hours early on the off-chance that I might get one of those prized seats is worth it. I don't use Thai so normally those seats were occupied by Bangkok by someone who got on in Sydney/Vietnam/Taiwan etc. These days I use Etihad or Qatar and they seem to let me choose, although I sometimes think the choice is limited early!

I am pretty sure morphine associated medications would be quite difficult to obtain and I believe Demerol would require a prescription. It is true many things can be bought over the counter but some things are restricted and more are being added all the time......some sleeping tablets have been added for example as they are used in 'dope and rob' crimes. I can't really help you further other than to suggest a lot of research, and can only also suggest you line up a local doctor to help cover you. There is a good standard large hospital in town.
