My TGF likes Singapore, but be prepared to spend a bit. The Singapore Flyer, Night Safari, and Senasota Park were big hits with my lady.

It is tempting to do the one-long-hop though. I go via the Middle east and the transits are the worst part of the flight. Walking miles, security and crowds, all done while feeling groggy and half asleep.

Care to expand that critique to Boeing's Dreamliner? I just flew on 2 A380's, very impressed.

The Ethiopian Airlines one parked at Heathrow? Also a 787 had to turn back to Manchester due to a problem. I believe the carrying of liquids restriction on aircraft will soon be modified for 787 flights, as it is recommended passengers bring their own fire extinguishers.

Well there is limited exposure there, paying with a 1000 baht note often is mistaken for a 500 one in a GGB! My TGF has received fake 100s from the local market.

It seems odd to be comparing an Emirates Biz Class to Thai (built for little people) Economy class seat.......I would expect far superior! I won't be going via London though....... particularly if it involves another change in HK! When BA change the BKK flights to T5 maybe Biz with them will be tolerable. Maybe not.......

Matter of price really, CAL were always the cheapest for Biz Class. I think I would look at Qatar that can be had for about 1700.

If you can afford Singapore Business Class, you can probably afford to go First on Emirates! But back to your point, you don't rate the A380 Emirates Biz Class......(I am thinking to use it soon)?

You have to be careful with such challenges. Whilst it may be unlikely that religion can account for the sheer numbers of Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot etc, it can do a pretty good example of brutality and blood-lust. I kind of think sawing off a living persons head is up there, as a basic example.

Try Thai food......it is pretty good. Then there are quite a few French/Italian/ etc etc places for that western fix. Of course there are Pizza places....... but I never eat it here, You can Google Pizza in Pattaya but I say live a little!

That is so strange.... I was thinking the opposite. Find one with very good English, and throw in a bit of Thai, you can have great conversations with Thai girls, they have an inherent sense of fun and love of humour that it can be a pleasure. I was thinking that in the bank the other day talking to a very English fluent employee.... she was trying to get me into fixed term deposits and we had a good laugh over her use of the phrase 'short-time'. Sure,if they don't speak any English and you zero Thai, it is 'Hello, what your name, where you come from, drink for me!'

Quite simply, it is better if you don't feel you are living in a gay area. Why the fuck do I need to know someone's sexual orientation? If I go to the beach near my condo, and some male propositions me sexually, then I would rather live some place else.
