It would be more surprising to find a beef vindaloo in India considering 80% of them are Hindu and don't eat beef. And quite a few of the rest are vegetarian........ Over 10% yes are Muslim and 10% of a lot is of course a lot. 1.2 billion and still popping them out like crazy. There are also a lot of cockroaches and rats there! As to pork, well beware of it in India as pigs are a major player in sanitation there and vile scary creatures.

It seems the taking of pictures is better tolerated on Bangkok's soi Cowboy, than Pattaya's Soi Diamond.

Once did an Air France flight to Sao Paulo and in Biz Class they wouldn't answer the service bell. There are a few places near the registration centre I was told... but to be honest I send the TGF out to sort out things like this so don't know exactly myself. The TGF informs me many car mechanic type places do the test and for a bike it is only 60-70 baht (for Thai maybe???) As you head towards the licence place on 36 from Sukhumvit there is a place on the left about 100m after the crocodile farm junction.

Both can be done at the vehicle registration centre on Rt 36.... opposite the Regents School.. Insurance outside....'tax' inside. The CTPL insurance is about 325 baht, the tax/registration is only 100 baht I think. If the bike is older than 5 years it requires an inspection. Be aware that the obligatory CTPL insurance is very limited and you can end up with some 3rd party liability! I have supplementary motorcycle insurance.

A lot of changes in the offing. The line above drew my attention as I have heard nothing regarding the restriction on 'extension of stay' based on a tourist visa. Obviously that will likely be up to the guys in Jomtiem and not those in the Hull consulate. Hopefully Hull are wrong, or she is simply defining the last of the 3x60 day stays, as by then the visa will have expired, but I will be asking someone.

No, as the post above suggests, if you have your own bank account use a statement. If you don't get a statement mailed, show the bankbook itself. I deliberately had the utilities put in my name when I got the house..... relationships can fail and you are left with an awkward problem.

I was thinking it might be that there were multiple requests for heavily pictorial threads. And obviously I am seeing it around this time too. But you are right, I have experienced interminable issues later in the Thai day.... It must be taking longer for the NSA to check things over and we can't blame you for that.

I am getting a lot of instances of waiting and waiting for the Pattayatalk server. Seems random, sometimes it hangs up for 10-60 seconds. Others it just never finishes the operation. Then it is okay for a while. I don't think it is high load due to the time I am on-line. It sometimes seems to be going back-and-forth to www.gravatar.com/
