  4. I must admit I was a little taken aback with the concept of having vegetable pie for desert when I first went over the pond..... but was pleasantly surprised by carrot cake and pumpkin pie! But I still hanker for some of those wing-deals I got when living up-state NY!
  5. Kevin Kline.
  6. Long topic really, but depends how comprehensive you feel you need it to be....will there be 'exclusions'. I made this up in January when looking at 'comprehensive' plans......all in Thai baht. Company-Product Max Claim p.a Max on room/ICU Premium Overseas Cover BUPA-Platinum 2m 2 million 10k/16k per day 57,175 Worldwide exc USA AXA Smartcare Optimum- Classic 2.5 million 10k/As charged 51320 Medical required 1.5 million ACS ASIA 1c 15 million 7.5K 49740 100% 7 weeks max April 30 million 100% 70200 100% Then there are much cheaper plans which give limited cover broken down into categories... and example being the plan offered at The Expats Club. There are 3 plans and 4 age groups, varying from 18,000 baht to 37220 for your age excluding out-patient options. The exclusions is important, the companies are quick to lump a lot of them in there for any issue...... if you have high BP or Hypertension,so much gets excluded, the premium stays up there and you wonder what you are covered for! I found communicating with BUPA to be okay and you could always send an email to an insurance brokers. eg AA.

  8. What a good idea.
  9. Absolutely agreed....when I return from the UK I normally take all the crap, leftovers and condiments out of my 'beer fridge' and tell her bin or other fridge. Everything gets put in there like it could outlast the pyramids.
  10. Apparently by smoking and eating Philly Steak sandwiches..........
  11. Well a lot want to live in the UK too but I don't feel that makes it a good place...... more likely because they are also easy and inept with regard to dealing with illegals!
  12. Someone mentioned Crazy Dave's was up-for-sale (maybe Evil) recently...I rode past yesterday and everything looked normal. Plenty of advertising notices for quite a menu, and a reasonable number of customers.......
  13. Yes I went there based on a recommendation. Most certainly not the Ritz, nor a restaurant, you would be stretching your imagination to call it a cafe. Similar to being invited into someone's kitchen for a meal. Personally not too impressed with it.....
  14. Because the English beat all of them at football. Is this a good subject, you being an American?
  15. Wot, no mince and tatties.... or perhaps that was yesterday and is in the 'pie' today.
  16. Or stay home sat in a chair.
  17. 24hr...she was the old lady in many a film apparently. 18 Again!
  18. Fortunate indeed... and I have good friend who could probably eat 10 day old dead rats and be fine! I get sick more easily and Indian restaurants are, to me, a high risk venue.
  19. Don't agree on the food...... you have to have some discretion where you eat. I have had food poisoning in quite a few countries and Indian restaurants seem to factor in there often, not always in India!
  20. Dirty unhygienic country.
  21. Sorry to tell you that Indian restaurants in the USA , like the Chinese ones, tend to serve an Americanised version. True Indian food should have you rolling around on the floor with stomach cramps for 24 hours!
  22. I am struggling to get my head around the idea that 'Apple Pie' is an American dish! Considering the first recipe was by Geoffrey Chaucer in 1381. And Christopher Columbus found the place in 1492. Puts a whole new meaning to the phrase 'as American as apple pie!'
  23. Or even attached to an angry ostrich!
  24. Rocky Balboa
  25. The Hangover.
