Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

  1. None of the British guys can afford it......have you seen where the £ is going recently!
  2. I think 500 baht/day is a high estimate. Diesel fuel is 29.999999/ litre and I find it lasts. I mostly use a bike too but it is hot and sweaty way to travel.
  3. How about sorry for the attitude................
  4. Have you tried changing it. You have to use the full editor? Not sure how long it is before the edit block kicks in.

  6. So to utilize the miles for 'purchases' I have to fly with Qatar, ie be in the duty free shop in Doha airport? I never tried to buy anything with them....the shop in the Qatar Premium Transit Lounge didn't have much selection, and at that time I wasn't aware I could use them. As said, Etihad offer me a limo, and I don't like the Doha bus system to transfer passengers. I have my fill of sitting motionless on Beach rd baht buses. Etihad keep suggesting I use their 'miles' to enter raffle draws. Already booked an Etihad ticket fot this summer and am considering the Emirates A380 for my other trip.

  9. How many flights per annum are you taking? I usually only do 2 but in Biz Class. I can't seem to remain even in Silver level and miles expire before I can use them. perhaps mileage flights are easier ex-UK? I lean towards Etihad because of the limo. Which of the rewards programs would you think is the better?

  11. I too thought the EPL would benefit from having the best of Scotland in there, instead of the lower order English sides that struggle.
  12. My worst was booking a hotel room using Agoda, and not noticing the extra charge of a compulsory Gala Dinner for 2 which got tagged on, and the booking was non-refundable as it was at the last minute. That cost me! Should be a 1 hour cooling down period where you can go to your credit card and cancel!
  13. Yes, it is a bit of a bad habit I have to reply quickly, without reading on first. Just like you missing the word 'mare' in the very first line of the thread and about 12 times after!
  14. Yes I thought that.... block it out of spite. These agents do come up with some silly transit times, but then again, if you go straight to the airline's websites, they do too. Who the hell wants to sit around in awful Abu Dhabi airport for 10+ hours on the way to Bangkok, or on the way back with just the bus-fare in your pocket. I have noticed a lot of sites now highlight the total journey time, so I always ensure that is in the expected 15-16 hour range. £115 to change it. I think you should have checked, since it was the return leg, if Etihad might have permitted a change for 2000 baht, after you had arrived. Beware too, changes seem to be getting more expensive with the carriers.
  15. Whatever they are I have 109.000 of them. These FF miles are near useless, I have had little success availing them and always pursue carriers based mostly on price anyhow.
  16. I suppose that was cancerous 'tongue in cheek'?

  19. True enough. I have a house and feel storage space is limited. Surprising how much crap a guy accumulates. Visited a friend in a condo and he was proudly showing off the view from the balcony, but I was more intrigued by all the crap he had out there.
  20. You never watched the super bowl then.
  21. Initial thoughts, unhappy. I don't like the concept of sports being scheduled to suit the TV audiences (or the advertising) at the expense of the 'home' support, and one place where I feel that is 'excessive' is the USA. Most USA guys I recall had nothing but disdain for 'soccer'.
  22. On UK TV a lot before that..... Orlando Bloom.

  24. I have always felt book at least a month in advance, but I personally didn't want to go more than 3 in advance. Circumstances change and refunds are tough to get. I have no real data to say how that affects pricing, except leave it too late and it gets more expensive. Perhaps someone in the industry can advise.
