Well I do wake up a bit fuzzy, but mostly not too bad. One decided advantage is Etihad supply me a nice Mercedes to drive me onward in comfort from the airport. If I could guarantee an empty row to lie down on in economy that is far better. I think I got pissed off once when told I couldn't have another drink until I got one with the crappy meal in economy. And that was the end of my long-haul el-cheapos! A glass of bubbly as the pretty stewardesses bustle around getting ready to close the doors appeals to me. And I don't have to hang around in the transit lounge between flights... they aren't very good in either Abu Dhabi or Qatar.

Blocking or Ignoring BM's?
jacko replied to cannonball83204's topic in Technical problems or questions.
Yes thanks. My computer is on a desk, against a wall, in a corner and kids are sneaky! -
I live here and am not worried in the slightest. I see you are from the UK so you should not be either. Perhaps someone flying from USA via South Korea or Japan might have more reason. Seoul is another 5 hours flight away.

This is the time of year food can be risky, even in Thailand. I even had some so-called fresh pineapple that didn't taste right..... seemed to have been sweetened with sugar. Made me feel unwell. On questioning the TGF she had bought it ready peeled in a plastic bag... I suggested it had been in the plastic bag, and the sun, for a little too long!

People from around Stoke, UK are always calling others 'duck'. Trouble is when you get used to it and don't, then you grouse!

Blocking or Ignoring BM's?

No don't. You have figured out how to ignore him and that should resolve your problem. Sounds like the guy has 'issues' and it isn't air to go public... unless you feel you are protecting others. I wish you would change your Avatar..... a kid keep sneaking up behind me to look at the computer, as per Forum Rule 9 I have a shoulder surfer! -
Are you insinuating that all the sides field the strongest team and play to the best of their ability every game? And that there has NEVER been any doubt....... There is just too much gambling money around.

I was answering a question from Pappy, which I quoted. An interesting development at the bank might be that you cannot en-cash the cheque for 7 years, to ensure it does not become part of an inheritance! Who knows what they might dream up next.

Pattayatalk forum software upgrade - problems?
jacko replied to MM's topic in Technical problems or questions.
Yes of course, I use a laptop. It's a sometimes thing, and mostly happens when I go into the quoted area prior to entering any characters outside of it. Haven't nailed the SOE down yet, but it requires me to reload the page. No big deal. -
Crafty Alex and whoever set up the incredulous end to last season!

Well let us know... I am tempted to fly through Dubai on A380 but probably not until July. I had high hopes when LHR built T5 that the days of the shittiest transfer on earth had ended, but no, my domestic would land in the new terminal and Bangkok flights use T3. So to hell with them.

Don't you think they might be setting things up for a more exciting finish to the season?

The exchange rate has persuaded a few UK people to repatriate money now, perhaps from the sale of a condo or such. There is still an underlying preference by many to have their money in the UK. And some decide to go home and have to sell up,

I get a lot of comments on the money I waste on Biz Class bratpack. I got a bit spoiled during my working days and I like to have a few drinks too. Sure, those extra G&Ts on the plane are dear at several short times each! I only do a couple of flights a year and I might as well enjoy them, rather than economy which, let's face it, is pretty miserable and mean spirited these days. I was going to cut back to one a year, but things changed back in grubby Greater Manchester. Still have a few bob left for those GGG short-times .... maybe have to cut that back to 20 though!

Some are taking the opportunity since the rate is very beneficial. Every now and again, someone will have to move back there.

Unless the donor dies within 7 years, then there are possible Inheritance tax implications. Seems like banks are sticking their noses in more and more often these day using 'money laundering' as an excuse. That and the fact the Government seem to have developed a bit of authority over the banks and everyone is a tax inspector. Wasn't there some mention rececntly of the UK asking whether money coming from Thailand had been subjected to taxation there?

I always liked the 747-400s, particularly the upstairs Biz Class......(after they stopped permitting kids and big soft kids to trundle through to see the cockpit all night long). Tempted to give the A380 a spin next trip back though.

Yes but they only present the bills when you are on the ground floor!

Sometimes, I go into the 'quoted' area, and I can't get out! -
No, the death in the family was unexpected, and it would only have been 2000 baht if that same Class, (Z in your case), was open. The charge is per change and you have to give them a date, which in my case could not be met again. I have always been able to fly per the booking in the past so changing costs never were a concern. Anything else I should have done and didn't? A flight on Qatar matching my itinerary is 106,655 baht. Changing the return leg would be free first time.
