Wrong..... it would likely depend on who I was talking to.It was particularly erroneous in South America when I worked there. In fact it was a friend's Argentinian wife who got me out of that habit after chastising me. It is silly really isn't it, like a Thai saying they come from the country of Asia.

Yes, I have, by people of those American countries! The Americas was a term I grew up with... and no I wasn't born before the canal was finished. The Americas, or America,[2][3][4] are lands in the Western Hemisphere that are also known as the New World. Comprising the continents of North America and South America ....... it isn't my fault the whole country doesn't know it's name.

I was going to say the hospital..... being the best bet.Most of the skin clinics seem to be geared towards complexion problems...pizza faces and whitening. Although I do like some of the girls that hang about out front trying to get the customers in in their short tight skirts... nearly as good as the eye places... and the way prices are going in GGBs may soon be my only source of entertainment!

I sometimes cut through that condo area at the back of Big C-X, goes between Soi Yume and 3rd Rd. At the 3rd Rd end is an Indian restaurant and every time I have passed there seems to be a crowd of Indians out-front. Normally indicative of 'cheap'......

You can eat Indian on both ends of the scale in the UK, where it isn't foreign food!

You got that right.... although the taxes shouldn't depend on where you buy the ticket from, they hit everyone flying out of the UK.Tickets still look a lot cheaper ex-UK with the baht only 45/£.

I got some called 'Branson' (I think it was) once..... nearly the same but not quite right.Now I have a jar of the real stuff in the suitcase next to the Heinz salad cream when flying back. Branston is my choice with pork pies.... and cheese.

Good suggestion..... shallots are readily available here, being more common than the big white onions, and white vinegar easily available and cheap.

It seems so hit and miss getting credit cards to work on-line, particularly Thai ones.That plus the underlying nervousness about using them here! I was in the Bangkok Bank branch telling them their crappy cards would not work on-line, the very reason I had got them... the first girl said I can still use them in the Mall...silly cow. I spent ten minutes with another more capable foxy girl who insisted on telling me 'everything okay'.... The reality was they hadn't set up their on-line validation system yet and preferred to lie to me like I am stupid than tell me it was their issue! That resolved it worked fine for a while... now I am having issues with the Etihad site... and I am sure it is Etihad. I suppose there has to be security to stop me sending 1000s$ to some sweaty Nigerian on a 1980's refurbished PC. Sometimes very frustrating when you know you didn't get the goods, but are unsure if they got your cash!

Have always liked mixed pickles and seek out the cauliflower... love that crunchiness. Has anybody else bought what they thought were pickled cocktail onions in Thailand, only to find they had pickled garlic cloves?
