  1. My friend, if you are stupid enough to smoke, you are stupid enough to believe such things. My home country is Thailand ........ Well more accurately, it is the place I now call home.
  2. Cheating on his wife was an example?
  3. I had this discussion with my brother..... If it is about freedom, where is my freedom as a non-smoker. It isn't about freedom..... bury that chestnut. It is about consideration for others, or selfish attitude.
  4. I am guessing you are on them at the moment.... ........

  6. They have banned nudity in bars in other countries...... USA/UK/Europe/ Australia?
  7. It took him many years to learn not to pick up a golf ball and tuck it into his G-String when it landed nearby.
  8. We are still talking breakfast right? You guys over the pond sure eat some crap for breakfast..... in the UK it is the only meal we excel at. Gotta go, my grits is ready.
  9. A friend did and he seemed to think they were OK...... good service on the plane.Cairo a bit chaotic. He travelled Biz Class though. Are they so much cheaper than the many options out of London?
  10. More so, there was a very famous advert in the UK of a good wife making her gravy (brown), and as the odour from the boat was sniffed came the well known line......'Ahhhh, Bisto'....it even ended up being on the container.
  11. Good post Gonzo, very informative. I might just take you to task over the BPH medical check up, my opinion differs a little. Firstly there is always a special offer for The King's Birthday, (November through January) and a medical can be had for a reduced price. Last year I had the top level one done for 20,000 baht, and it was quite comprehensive (ultrasound, stress test blood/piss/shit analysis etc), it took all day and even offered the option of an overnight stay, and included a meal voucher (after skipping breakfast etc quite necessary). Fortunately they didn't take the opportunity to scare me with some unnecessary procedures and prognosis of dire consequence. Although I must admit to having been very aggravated (a visit some years back) to find I too had been prescribed overpriced paracetamol at BPH when I always have the 20 baht SaRa blister packs (at 20 baht for 10 pills at Fascinos). at home. The indication of mercenary commission orientated doctors who really do not have your best interest at heart.
  12. Ahhhh not Bisto. Sawmill gravy.....
  13. What on Earth is that white slop?
  14. Well you said credit expired, which on my Thai SIM can happen, as there is a 'valid until' mentioned with every balance enquiry.Irrespective of usage. I guess in the UK they go about snatching your money in a different way . They said.. You need to make a chargeable call in any 6 month period otherwise the Sim is disconnected and the number reclaimed. I suppose the fact that it was in-use (ie going on-line in Thailand ) frequently did not tell them it was still 'live'. Luckily I spotted it and got it reconnected, otherwise the number and credit could have been lost.
  15. PIH on Soi 4, and Memorial at Klang /2nd. Not sure of the costs though...likely less than BPH.There is a new place up soi Buakhao too.
  16. A River Runs Through It
  17. Many are about 91% (22 carat)....but the Canadian Maple Leaf and Panda the OP mentions are actually 100%, but I don't suppose they are meant to be kept in your pocket and used to buy a pint.
  18. I got onto their chat line and the SIM had been cancelled as I hadn't made a call for 6 months. I thought going on the network and receiving a SMS would cover that.
  19. Boy have I been trying to find them......I have an email complaint logged in...... but this is not the longest I have gone without a top up. There was never an expiry date when I did a balance enquiry.
  20. Don't think so, it never did before. and since each trip I put a bit more on, why would it all expire?
  21. When Harry Met Sally
  22. When I am in the UK for 4 weeks a year ( 2 trips) I always plugged my UK SIM card into my phone...basic phone, no smart stuff. I use O2 Pay as you Go there..Talkalot... Every-time I was in the UK I put £20 on it... that gave me free calls to Ma and brother/sis etc as they were in the same postcode. My credit built up to £70 or so, silly really, too much. Anyhow, I used to get back to Thailand, the credit didn't expire, pulled out the UK SIM card when in Thailand and put the Thai one in. Credit sat there on my UK O2 account. Ready for the next trip. Then I got a new phone and got in the habit of leaving the UK SIM in the old phone.......turned off in a drawer when in LOS. Then I got into the habit of using the old phone when I timed my garden sprinklers.... it used to connect to the AIS network when I turned it on, but no calls, no texts, in or out, so no problem I thought. Remember this is not a smart phone, no data or internet. Today I noticed my UK phone/SIM no longer connects to AIS, checking via my computer my £70+ credit is ZERO with O2....... I can only surmise my frequent connection to roaming, without calls/texts in or out, has cost me. Whether the charges are from AIS or O2, I do not know. O2 PAYG does not let you look at the charges you incur. How the hell does one keep these fuckers hands out of your pockets! Worse then Katoeys.
