  1. Barbershop.
  2. I have the McAfee running with my Firefox now.. but I use Vista, your new machine would be Windows 7 (64 Bit) .
  3. Monster
  4. Pity to have to throw away a free subscription....... was it 36 months? Did you ever enable it? I see Firefox has just released an update today.
  5. You have to take your own....? Will I need a bowl if I fancy soup?
  6. Perhaps like the food in the chinkies in the UK then. After living in and eating Thai I found Chinese stuff in the UK a bit bland myself...'go get the hot sauce... the real hot sauce' I had to say.
  7. You might get a deal if the plane is underbooked.... but mostly booking in advance is better and you get the certainty of being able to travel.Of the European Carriers Lufthansa and Turkish are cheapest (Saigon). Hanoi is shown more expensive with Thai and Vietnam Airways. There is always Air Asia of course for about 4500THB. plus $2 to use the toilet + $3 for tissue and an environmental charge of $1.50 for the water required to flush it.
  8. I am saying a year ago the attitude seemed fine and the food was okay... someone else is claiming things are getting bad.
  9. I am fed up of looking for Shweppes Tonic and Mae Now cans (like bitter lemon)...... been going round the shops for the last 2 weeks.Shweppes soda seems to be available.
  10. It made me understand why the Japanese never look very happy!
  11. Actually I was looking in Tesco (Laem Chabang) and prices didn't look too bad (slightly cheaper than UK regular shops) and the selection better than it used to be.What we need here is some 'Pound Shops'...
  12. I have seen that attitude with the boss's Missus or her relatives employed in the kitchen. I ate there about a year ago and things seemed fine.
  13. Is your brother in the UK? My sister got herself a good priced ticket via a travel agent. Try another agent. Then you could just transfer the money to his account. Surprised you can't pay for a ticket for someone else over the Eva website.... shop around more. Consider other airlines, I have found Qatar/Emirates easier to do internet bookings. You may have to send a letter to your brother which he can use at check-in if the CC is not available to him. (Unless you have a brother like mine, if I sent him £700 me nor anyone would see him for a while!)
  14. It sounds like Firefox is opening but cannot connect to the internet? Or is it just crashing? Are you able to go to 'Options' in Firefox? There you can go to 'Advanced' 'Network' Tab 'Settings' Mine is set to 'Auto Detect' As to the fiirewall.... I have the McAffee firewall turned on and the Windows Firewall turned off. (I find this out under the Security Centre). Firefox must be given full access to the internet through the McAffee firewall. Open the McAffee 'TotalProtection' Select 'Firewall' 'Settings' 'Internet Connections For Programs' Firefox should be in that list. If it is not, use ADD and Browse for C:\Program Files\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe
  15. Danny Glover (Siam Sam...it was on Sophon a few days ago!)
  16. I keep a copy in the car with copies of the insurance and of course the original 'disc' on the windscreen. It has always sufficed. Originals in safe.
  17. Well what you highlighted didn't really make it absolutely clear. But to be honest it seems strange to even expect Thailand to give you a motorcycle licence when you have not qualified to drive a motorcycle (note it would allow you to ride the big bikes too). I have motorcycle and car listed on my UK one and it was easy, I obtained both Thai licences the same day, with only the reaction and depth perception tests. All is well that ends well.
  18. At first glance I thought the girl was on the sofa.
  19. Could someone give us a comparison on a BJ? About 700 baht here!
  20. Perhaps my unwillingness to try other brands... whenever I have done that in the past I have always chucked them away and gone back to my Gillette Blue 2s.When I buy them here they only seem good for a couple of shaves. On the grey hair..let it go, Richard Gere did and my TGF loves him!
  21. 4) Or do a trip to another country 18th Feb and stay there 4-5 days! The cost of a visa run is about that of the extension option, option 3 would be my choice.... BUT, beware immigration being closed for Songkran!
  22. Do you actually have a UK motorcycle licence or not? Sounds to me like you only have the car licence!
  23. Yeah...car insurance is way cheaper here due to fraudulent claims and ambulance chasing lawyers in the UK.
  24. Haircuts...I pay 100 baht but the price is 60. Nasal trim, eybrows and ears included... and a shoulder rub on completion. Fuel...very much so. Electric bill.
