Any impact on 'showing ' and places like Babydolls/ Windmill? Or is it mainly a late night thing. Apparently under-aged and foreign staff was also part of the target that affected me last week. Doesn't this happen every year at the tail end of peak season?

I can only suggest you seek out a good travel agent in Brasil to see if they can help. I did a quick check on Travelex and it came up with a cost of £600... but I believe that was ex-UK. For Brazil they said you had to call customer service. It is perhaps wise to get insurance, medical bills here can be crippling.

Whether this was caused by some BMs abusing the promotion, or business got better obviating the need to promote business I am unsure. I wish Nev, who up to this point seemed to be striving to satisfy,would post here and clarify what the scenario was. I would not be too surprised to read that some BMs were telling their drinking neighbours..... that is life. I was once on a job in Korea, and we put most of our guys up in a hotel, and as a recompense the hotel gave us a free bar with snacks daily from 7-9pm, which was absolutely fantastic. Of course some had to abuse it by stealing the bottles of Remy off back to their rooms and got it cancelled.

I was just thinking that.... rather negative that a thread asking about the food at a particular establishment ends up waffling on like a doctor's convention. As I mentioned, when I visited PBG a few weeks back, I didn't eat. But the service was excellent and business was doing very well.

I was looking at the Biz Class flights on Etihad for a round trip Bangkok to Manchester. On the internet you are shown the costs separated for the outward and return legs. The flight ex-Manchester via Abu Dhabi, is about 8000 baht more than the ex Bangkok via Abu Dhabi. Meaning I guess that the UK APDs and Airport Charges are 8000 baht in excess of those from Bangkok? About £170/US$260. And other than my thinking 'rip off Britain/EU' I was more concerned that the UK authorities may be offended that they don't get as much from the incoming flights!

I bet the bathrooms were a mess.

Quite a lot actually, althougfh the Naklua area is leaning towards Germans.Soi Bua Khao area seems to be more British, say The Butchers Arms or Wetherspoons. And on Soi 6, the Queen Vic and Lord Nelson. I am sure the FLB will be mentioned too.

I recall the Bangkok Bank in Pattaya doesn't have any ATM machines inside (soi 6).... in there there is a passbook update M/C and another for depositing money.I use my foreign card sometimes as that is where I want the money to come from.... and being a bit tight I am restricted to Aeon machines. In Pattaya the one in the Mall always seems to be offline.... and I do go to BigC South often.... hence I am at the Aeon machine in front of Homeworks. I would be struggling to get back my card in the event of problems as there obviously is no bank there, and my card doesn't have my name on it! Perhaps I should just arrange for money to be sent over periodically and restrict myself to the BB card. Fortunately I do plan better than to need to make a withdrawal at 11pm... or my lifestyle is somewhat different.
