  1. Try having fewer wives and kids! I would think Cathay a good option. When I last flew to Manila from the UK I used BA to HK and then Cathay.
  2. I certainly agree there but I see this rule waived a little more frequently of late.I find it off-putting and am inclined to move on.
  3. I presume he knows that?I thought he was banned from posting...amazing he hasn't jumped back in over tha last month then.
  4. Why not the Thai banks, they are offering some reasonable fixed term deposits? The offshore banks have given up offering good interest rates, they don't need the money, they can borrow it for near zero rates themselves from the central banks! Try this Or how about saving into say a currency trading account.... PM me.
  5. Yeah, I noticed you popped that in there just now.Do you think it might get us bad boys to behave?
  6. Shhh Joe, have you seen your reputation lately?
  7. I like the mixed fruits flavour. They don't have one so I mix it myself.... One pineapple, one orange, one strawberry and one banana and I find a mint one makes it taste perfect. It's a lot to swallow as the bishop said.......... and I struggle to get my pants back on after the deed.
  8. Seconded!
  9. That was my first thought. The government doesn't like private companies doing what it does itself, adding surcharges to flight costs.Perhaps this is a diversion tactic for the coming European Carbon tax to be added to flights. Then there is the fact that credit card companies do charge retailers a percentage for handling the transaction, perhaps 4%, I have heard AMEX charge 5. I believe that charge should be passed on to the consumer, then, for the consumer who choses not to use a credit card, they can offer tha absolutely cheapest price. But how does a consumer avail himself of that price. It seems there are charges for using a debit card too, or admin fees, or whatever. I certainly can't go cash in hand to the airline office to pay for the ticket. Probably talking to a human being incurs a charge too. I have not seen an option booking a ticket over the internet to pay by bank transfer. They will get you in the end.

  11. Vitaclay 2-in-1 Rice N' Slow Cooker VF7700-6 When we get to see that arse?
  12. They seem bring to the boil for 10 minutes or so and then just keep warm. Not sure what the congee setting does. She only showed me the correct button to press!
  13. Yes, strange. My fares most certainly have gone up over the years too. I suppose the taxes will keep going up as it is perceived as both 'green' and picking on a select group, those who can afford to travel. I just don't accept that the EU has the right to enforce and create taxes, particularly on those from outside the zone.

  15. Jeez Joe... you got there in the end after you put the stick down!
  16. Actually a lot of the trains are just passing through Picadilly and the other Manchester Stations (Oxford Rd, Deansgate etc). Unless there is something you would like to do in Manchester!
  17. The world ruling body, the EU, has decided it must step in and protect the planet, and make some money of course at the same time. Europe's highest court has upheld the right of the European Union to impose a carbon cap-and-trade scheme on international airlines using European airports, rejecting an appeal from U.S. airlines. Apparently it will be obligatory for the airlines using European airports to pay for the carbon they emit. Actually everyone who breathes does so too, where do I drop my coin? A cow breathing in a green Netherlands field does so too, and a fish swimming up the Thames. I see a wider picture here. Europe imposing rules that impact the worlds carriers without due authority. (No taxation without representation as the USA says). The ability to impose any asinine rule or 'law' providing it has green roots! The need to increase taxation due to the inability of European countries to manage their spending. A crazy headlong rush into green alternatives, effectively painting oneself into an energy corner. These darned ugly wind turbines popping up all over the UK... how do we know that impeding the winds does not itself bring about climate change? Rant over, main problem, bloody air tickets are getting too expensive, and European idiots in that silly little place Luxembourg are determined to choke off it's own wealth.
  18. More than all day, a chunk of the night too. When the TGFs mother stayed I was woken up by the smell of rice cooking at 4am!
  19. Yeah me too, although the rest of the show was an anticlimax. You could sit at the beer bar and watch or get a table and have a bit of food.
  20. Looks fine to me although I can't see a bottle of HP and a bit of fried black pudding! A steaming mug of tea needed too!
  21. Not exactly sure what you are asking but there is a railway station at Manchester airport and it takes 15 minutes to get to check-in from there. As someone else said likely you could come into Manchester Picadilly, and have to change there to get a 20 minute ride to the airport on a quite frequent service. You can also change in Edinburgh where there is a service straight to Manchester Airport. Or pass through Manchester without changeing via Ediburgh or Glasdgow, then Preston. There is also a service from Carlisle to Manchester Airport.http://ojp.nationalr...090112/0815/dep Hope you didn't travel yesterday though. All the trains were delayed due to a big fire near the line in Leyland.

  23. What you need in a phone and what I do likely differ extremely MM. I will likely get a 2 SIM phone to take advantage of the better international prices of True Move without changing my current number. The dual SIM phones I have seen are known brands and I did not believe them to be copies. Plus the one the TGF has seems to have lasted better than the good Sony Eric I bought her. (duly trashed)My idea of a truly crap phone would be the type covered by extreme propriety protection, or have 100 buttons the size of 'dtaa mot'
  24. Hardly a crime these days, the burgers always look better in the pics behind the servers too. (ala Michael Douglas in Falling Down).
