  2. I tried it yesterday about 4pm....crap.
  3. I sort of agree with him. It seems to take up a lot of space at the bottom of the page and I misinterpret it as a list of those currently reading the thread.Aha... a collapse button!
  4. Google not working?Tropical Berts
  5. Memento
  6. I stopped using Skype from Thailand to UK landlines as I could never get a good connection in the past, and I always felt it was a limitation of my TOT ADSL connection. Instead I used a CAT card and my mobile. But recently I went back to my $20 Skype credit and the calls worked fine. I am thinking the AIS wireless aircard is the limiting factor. How about the times you are communicating or her location.... likely the data transmission gets a lower priority/speed if the Thai mobile network is being well used.
  7. Pattayaland 2, Soi 13/4. Later edit. Disregard, he found it. MM, he found it!
  8. Upstairs in the jumbo or A380 is good too.... you can see better from up there!
  9. Class Action.
  10. A good summary. I live here and don't get to see what's going on around town!
  11. I like to sit at the front as you get there sooner.
  12. Unforgiven.
  13. Well last year it was certainly a crush getting back from Bali Hai towards Walking St, but my solution was to duck into the first GO-GO.Hardly an issue for me.
  14. Susan Sarandon of course.
  15. That post reminds me of a Charles Dickens character.
  16. Seen them up in the trees on the beach, had a great laugh once when one of those green ones fell down near some guys on deck chairs. Now that I have moved out of town and have a garden I see them all too frequently.

  18. Nobody mentioned traffic other than you.Sure Pattaya is a mess on that score, inhibited somewhat by the sea on one side. It will be busy over this weekend too. Bangkok is hardly easy to traverse..... unless you are a sardine. Pattaya is a good place for a NYE. That is all I said, before, as usual, in you came, nipping and picking. With a similar minded friend. There have been fewer bombs going off here than in BKK too!
  19. Post a few pics with prices.....
  20. I went in last night and would like to report SUCCESS. The first server gave me the usual Thai shrug and confused mouth agape look... but there was a more attentive lady with a spark behind her eyes who seemed to home in quickly and she knew what Pattaya Internet meant! I got 2 bottles of Heiny and the tab, which took a while to sort, arrived, I was charged only for one. It was quieter inside last night, perhaps being Thursday not Friday like last week, (it will be murder getting around town tonight with the fireworks competitions). I also was pleased that both beers arrived suitably chilled and resplendent in a 'condom'. I looked around and quite a few guys seemed to be nursing 2 drinks, although mostly drafts (2 for one on a 59 baht draft is just too cheap!). It was near 10pm so I don't believe this was happy hour goings on, perhaps I was surrounded by PT members. A girl with a large frontage joined me, but soon went to dance, and another very appealing young lady with a natty short haircut plonked herself down. I had 3 lots of 2-4-1 beers, and bought a few LDs. The tequilas are rather tiny, near derisory, but the girl was thoughtful enough to order something else later, something more enduring, before she had to go do her 'stint'. So I had a good hour, the bill was reasonable, and I was suitably pleased. The walk to this place is a little off putting, particularly as I started out at Klang, and again beach road is choked up with market stalls selling crap and hard going. Walking St itself is getting that peak season look. X-Zone needs a neighbour, those steps are off putting for an old guy like me. The special deal for PT members needs a bit of ironing but perhaps we are getting there. Word of mouth doesn't work well in LOS, employees need to be told what is required each day and reminded often!
  21. Yeah, it was dead easy to get out of the Santika club.
  22. Me too, all those years stuck in the Middle East at Christmas did that to me, vacation timings never allowed me to go home. Now I arrange gifts using the internet and that is the end of it. Flights too expensive anyhow.
  23. I thought they just waved the bottle over a glass of ice cubes and then filled it with water and soda?
  24. And my elderly aunt had her walking stick kicked from under her and her bag stolen at the ATM by a young Brit. Yours was likely a foreigner.
