I live in LOS and decided to buy my tickets ex-LOS a few years back, prior I bought tickets with a distant return date ex-UK.The exchange rate has not gone in my favour..... Surprised you couldn't move your 3 month return out some months rather than cancelling it altogether. The extra charges were more than a one-way ticket? Aeroflot/Austrian/ will fly you one way for about 20k.... Kingfisher/Oman 15k/16k.......(London) I think the prices Ex-Uk relative to ex BKK are pretty similar (particularly if you use a Middle east Carrier)....the question is where do you ultimately want to end up? Generally one-way tickets are expensive.... but there are bargains with less popular carriers.

I have always felt most Thais disrespect money. The hanker after it, but treat it casually. If they have it they want to spend it as if it might go out of fashion. My TGF tucks notes all over the place and leaves change lying around.

Pah... happens every year or two... and if memory serves me right they normally get it out of the way during the lull prior to peak season. I am optimistic that the smoking restrictions which are applied more in Bangkok will also be enforced in Pattaya.... but I am not holding my breath. Places like Marine, Insomnia Mixx etc etc are purely late late places and have always managed to reopen within hours of a full scale raid.

Well you are hardly promoting yourself very well are you? If you are in fact serious. Get out of that rut, consider education or retraining. There are enough Thais here without skills looking to be paid to do very little.
