  1. It is quite a few years since I used Bombay (Mumbai) airport, and I most certainly would not choose to transit there en-route UK-LOS. On my last visit, it wasn't the 21st century yet, certainly not in Bombay airport, by a long chalk. It was a shit hole full of mosquitoes and bugs. Posts in this very forum have spoken badly of transfers in Mumbai.
  2. I would be interested to hear from anybody who witnessed this at the airport. It smells a bit of sensationalism and perhaps journalistic licence. I would be quite aggrieved if I could not get to my Biz Class check-in for all these backpackers welfare state scroungers lounging around and making trouble. Glad to see our consular services putting down their sherry and helping out their people.
  3. Yeah I kinda thought the same thing... perhaps should have kept a bit of spending money by for unforeseen circumstances.Surely there is insurance too.
  4. When I was a kid a lot of bikes had these little generator wheels that could be released to be driven by the tyre, for the lights. A bit dumb really as you could be run into sitting at the traffic lights completely dark! Surely rechargeable batteries would work driven off such a device..... or even a wind turbine mounted on the bike.
  5. Killing birds for their feathers and dumping tons of alkaline batteries all over the place.... this guy is an environmental terrorist. And a nut...... Looks like he claims to be related to the Reuben brothers.
  6. Since Kingfisher is an Indian based carrier, the same plane continuing on to London is unlikely, and would be treated as a separate flight anyhow. The schedule shows A320 from BKK and A330 to London.
  7. There are normally security checks of some form as arriving international passengers are regarded as unsecured. Which Airports do you know that do not practice this?
  8. Yes, not sure about the bus and traffic situations, but at £7.50 that train ride sounds fine...... saving a £10 for the sake of 10 minutes sounds sensible to me.You mentioned £50 for a cab from West Croydon.... would that be going South to trhe M25 and round clockwise? Quite a chunk of change and we are spoiled with the £25 fare for the 120km Bangkok Airport to Pattaya.
  9. Well you should be okay with the pizza here then.
  10. It is quite saddening to learn that I too, am too old for the movies. I am never going to get that break!

    Nightmarch

Well Pattaya Today seems to be sorted now, although I was taken aback by a pic of the old nemesis Thaksin when I went to the front page. Here is a link straight to the April 21st Nightmarch. Beware of the annoying audio stream. The audio player is on the right..... This column seems to be out of style and I suspect a different author, anybody who knows more I would be interested to hear. Nightmarch often suggests a place for me to visit on one of my own wanders about town.
  12. Small market, most Thais think it is disgusting.Having purchased a wee piece from Carrefour recently I find 275 baht/Lb very attractive. Welsh rabbit anyone?
  13. Will it still be £18 for the 15 minute journey or is there a special on the price too?
  14. Here is the original post for those interested.
  15. If I, or anybody, was interested they have been scared off by a collection of stupid thread fuckers with nothing better to do than bitch amongst themselves like a load of little girls.
  16. What a collection of thread fuckers, and this is your mate Jack isn't it Big D? He might as well start another advert.
  17. I am really in trouble, I stay home, watch my TV and drink.
  18. There and the Cool house are popular farang cheap eating houses. The vegetables are tasteless, but portions big, prices low.Nice to eat in AC away from smoke.
  19. Nurse, nurse, he's out on his bike again.
  20. Darn, be a block of ice here in LOS today. I stack the fridge daily before scraping the fluff off my chin!
  21. An early morning BJ beats 'Folgers in your Cup'......The beer is best served a little later on a hot day!
  22. Ahhh, well youi see, it doesn't work that way.
