  1. Always great info and entertaining monkeyman. I always learn things from you. That bit about the Asian tourists (and from my personal viewing there are many waiting on the pier) now congesting traffic on Beach Road has me scratching my head...but it is probably just dandruff in my hot and dry California Central Valley climate. It must be dehydration and when properly hydrated I am certain it will make more sense. Although, you did not say exactly where on Beach Road. If It is down by Naklua I would find it less of a concern. However that is far from the pier. Perfect Thai logic in that somehow. Perhaps I will just avoid baht busses on Beach Road. It was slow enough already toward Walking Street that I usually hopped off at the mall anyway. I might have to hop off parallel to Mikes Shopping now. Glad I am only 66. As to the wood trading, that is rarely an early morning problem for me any more. However, hope springs eternal.
  2. One thing about China Air. EVA cancellation policy for a discounted bc ticket used to be $200 if I recall. China Air is $500 It is a few hundred less if changing dates, etc.

  4. My best year was my first year when I knew absolutely nothing about the EPL.

  6. Well, they are $400 or so less expensive and I am pretty sure I will go with them. How much better could EVA business class be? I doubt $400 worth.
  7. yes, both airlines I looked at are Taiwanese.
  8. I prefer business class as my body has problems in cattle class and even premium cattle class. It means less trips but I can sleep and stretch out, lie on my side, etc. So I was on seatguru.com and all of the airline websites that fly out of San Francisco looking at what they fly, how much they cost and times of arrival outbound and inbound. Of all of the airlines I narrowed it down to EVA and China Air. Both leave SFO at around midnight and arrive in Bangkok late morning. Perfect for me. Air China is about $400 cheaper round trip and I am leaning toward them. However, I thought I would ask people to compare the two, if they have experience with both. Thanks in advance.

  10. A question. When I use an ATM at a bank, I expect the transaction to be between me and the bank. Now you demonstrate that a third party is involved with the exchange rate. Are there security concerns in this?
  11. Just don't cornhole the corndog.
  12. After years of being single again, I could still use some tips on selecting quality ingredients, like meat. As to MM's post, I would read a culinary section.
  13. Taken to quoting yourself? Who needs a man hug now?
  14. Carla Gugino great tits
  15. Hormel makes it. I looked it up and Target sells it in the USA. This is how we ate it as a kid. http://www.hormel.com/Recipes/Sunshine-Hash.aspx
  16. They used to land late morning at Swampy from San Francisco and the last I looked they were landing late at night. I always flew them because of the late morning arrival. Oh well. How does that work? Does Heathrow lose money if EVA (or any airline) doesn't fly? Or is it just about customer complaints? I am sure that airlines have signed contracts that stipulate what you are saying. edit: I just checked, the EVA site was not working but according to Google flights they are back to late morning (noonish) arrivals. What are the best airlines from the USA west coast now for travel to BKK?
  17. Had she lived another five or ten years they may have been combined together.
  18. Mom used to occasionally get cans of corned beef hash and cook poached eggs for the topping. Without the eggs the CBH sucked, so dry, but with the eggs it was good. My dad loved the stuff. That said, I miss her fried chicken and banana cream pies. The woman could cook until she got old and her recipes changed....but in her heyday, mmmmmmmmmmmm.
  19. lol, don't get my homophobic hackles up. Are you British? Perhaps it is cultural stuff I am missing. The Brits lose me at bangers and mash and fish and chips. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGrvQ1c5khU
  20. No, the smell of blue Stilton Cheese might make me hurl. Other cheeses might also. Just the thought of it makes me uncomfortable. Tilsit is where my mom was from. Not a fan. Cheddar is horrible. That I recognize as Red Leicester, if not mistaken. About all I can handle are mild Italian cheeses. But this is about Spam and not cheese. That M.P. bit is not among their best.
