I've just bought a good arm monitor from Amazon in the UK for 15 GBP ($23). Trouble is costs as much to post it over here. Still cheaper than buying in LOS though.

I eat there a lot and i am always pleased with the food, and price. The staff don't chat much but no problem for me, i go there to eat not socialise. No worse than most thai service staff.

leaving pattaya - where to sell my motorbike
chris2004 replied to jasmineelizabeth's topic in Expat Issues
It's funny that logic doesn't seem to work for cars in thailand. People ask 80-90% of new price even for cars 2-3 years old. -
A friend of mine just paid for his tgf to get a licence with no lessons. Needless to say within a year she wrote off his car !!

Thailand approves layout for Formula 1 circuit
chris2004 replied to python's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I agree most of the street circuits are a joke from a racing point of view. Just on the calendar to attract money to F1. Same goes for night racing, what idiot thought that up. -
Thailand approves layout for Formula 1 circuit
chris2004 replied to python's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Yes it would be good to have a F1 in Bangkok but the nightmare involved in getting to BKK to see it would not be worth it. Watch it on TV in HD. -
I got a Trojan warning when i tried to access Raistx's links. Beware.

Just to put the other side i eat there most weeks and have always been happy with the food - the toad on wednesdays is awesome.

I downloaded Hula onto Crome and now it's so easy to get the BBC and ITV iplayers. No need to pay for the service. Problem is most of the programmes are shite.

I think ALL of Pattaya is predominately Russian now, expecially Jomtien where i live. There will be fewer and fewer Brits, and Eurpopeans, over time.

Pattaya Music Festival....
chris2004 replied to Billions's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I tend to give it all a miss and relax for a few days. I can't be arsed to fight my through the crowds and walk everywhere just to hear a bit of music i probably won't even like. -
Honda Forza 300 - Anybody tried one out?
chris2004 replied to CheshireTom's topic in Transport in Thailand
Agreed it looks great for touring but would be a nightmare in Pattaya. -
I've been conned a few times in Tukcom so i thought i was aware but got caught out again yesterday. Wanted a 3d blu-ray disc and the genuine ones are expensive @ 1,500 bahts. So i tried one from the 4th floor Tukcom. Obviously copies but maybe OK. The packaging looked good, clear printing and at 500 baht was at the top end of prices. It was meant to be a Scorpions concert and the blu-ray disc had a photo of the Scorpions clearly printed on the disc. When i got home though and tried it it was another fucking group - Glee, never heard of them. Luckily i live close to Tukcom and went back

Outdoor fitness park in Pattaya?
chris2004 replied to Calm-a's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
That outdoor gym area at the back of the new Axis condo is quite impressive. I would use it but it is a bit scary around there, even in the day time let alone at night. It is so quiet with no one around i felt nervous even walking round. -

OK i got the hard disc and box from Tukcom. It was about 1,000 baht cheaper than that charged by Truevisions but i was lazy and could probably have saved even more if i had shopped around. In the article i listed it also shows how you can use other recording devices with up to 2 tb storage. You have to ring TV and confirm you want the PVR package which costs 100 baht a month. As soon as you do that you can use the PVR. The PVR is operated solely from the Truevision box remote. You just open the programme listing, click record on the required programme and it will record when the programme come

I've had the HD/PVR combo for a few months. It works great (unusual for Truevisions i know). I didn't buy the hard disk and the box from TV to save a few bob, they charge over the odds. But the PVR works well. The picture with a HD LED tv is awesome. The good thing about using interchangeable hard discs is that you have unlimited storage capacity. I started with a 500gb disc but will buy a 1 tb disc next. So easy to record programmes and watch them at your leisure. This link gives loads of useful info www.somkiet.com/AudioVideo/HD-PVR.htm

Cabbages and Condoms near Jomtien. The service is always bad but the thai food is OK and nice views. -

If you check out the Air Asia deals you can get flights BKK to CM for as little as 1,000 baht return. I have a flight booked in January 2013 for 1,000 baht. Why travel by bus.

97 Baht Van from Bangkok to Pattaya from Victory Monument
chris2004 replied to tequilareef's topic in Transport in Thailand
I've taken it a few times and it's a good way to get to BKK/Pattaya cheaply. Best to avoid the rear seats if you can as it gets very bumpy.- 40 replies

Why do people pay these sort of prices? for a 100k or so more you can buy a brand new car.
