Have stayed at Sabai lodge a lot, last trip stayed at pasedena Lodge for a week , decide to switch Hotels so i went and checked out both Sabai Empress and the Sabai Wing Rooms of Sabai Lodge (same hotel , different reception) both times they were very happy to shows us the different types of rooms they had as well as the facilities, pool, gym etc I have just booked my flight and am arriving in late July for 22 days and have just emailed Sabai lodge asking for a bit better than the advertised for the deluxe A large pool rates. I know Sabai inn guests can use the lodges pools , but if your staying at the Empress which has its own pools , im not sure if youcan use the lodges or resorts pools.

I have been reading various letters from the Pirate bay website responding to Disney, Nintendo, Sony,EA etc etc for as long as i have been using torrents at least 5-6 years. Joe click on the website and low and behold the first letter you will open is one from Microsoft dated February 2004, then click on the EA one and its September 2004. As per my previous post these letters have been on the website for years.

Those response letters have been up for years , however in the last week or so. Threat Level Privacy, Crime and Security Online The Pirate Bay Guilty; Jail for File-Sharing Foursome * By Wired Staff Email Author * April 17, 2009 | * 2:28 am | * Categories: Yo Ho Ho * Four men connected to The Pirate Bay, the world’s most notorious file sharing site, were convicted by a Swedish court Friday of contributory copyright infringement, and each sentenced to a year in prison. Pirate Bay administrators Fredrik Neij, Gottfrid Svartholm Warg and Peter Sunde were found guilty in the case, along with Carl Lundström, who was accused of funding the five-year-old operation. In addition to jail time, the defendants were ordered to pay damages of 30 million kronor ($3.6 million) to a handful of entertainment companies, including Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Bros, EMI and Columbia Pictures, for the infringement of 33 specific movie and music properties tracked by industry investigators. Sunde, The Pirate Bay’s spokesman, announced the news over Twitter Friday morning before the verdict was official. He remained defiant, and offered comfort to supporters. "Stay calm — Nothing will happen to TPB, us personally or file sharing whatsoever. This is just a theater for the media." The content industry, however, applauded the verdicts. The two-week trial, which ended March 2, was a joint civil and criminal proceeding that pitted the entertainment industry and the government against the four defendants, who each faced up to two years in prison. In addition, motion picture and record companies sought $13 million in damages for the 33 movies and music tracks at issue. The verdicts are a significant symbolic victory for Hollywood, the record labels and the rest of the content industry that claims online piracy costs them billions of dollars in lost sales. "The Pirate Bay has claimed all the time that their activities are legal," Henrik Pontén, a lawyer who represented the film and computer game companies in the trial, told the Swedish media. "Now that it has been proven illegal we presume that they will stop." The Pirate Bay crew, though, has vowed to continue running the site whatever happens, and claims that it is secured from a forced shutdown through a network of distributed servers located outside Sweden. For now, the attention brought by the highly-publicized trial has only made The Pirate Bay more popular. The site has swelled to 22 million users. And thousands of Pirate Bay fans have flocked to sign up for its new $6 anonymization VPN service, which allows torrent feeders and seeders to conduct their business in private without leaving a trace of their internet IP addresses. And, since the trial began, membership in Sweden’s copyright reform Pirate Party has grown 50 percent, while its youth affiliate is now the second largest in Sweden. Even if The Pirate Bay is ultimately shuttered, dozens of other illicit BiTtorrent tracking services are easily accessible. The defendants are expected to appeal, and they remain free pending further proceedings. The defense largely hinged on an architectural point. Because of the way BitTorrent works, pirated material was neither stored on, nor passed through, The Pirate Bay’s servers. Instead the site merely provided an index of torrent files — some on its servers, some elsewhere — that direct a user’s client software to the content. But prosecutor Håkan Roswall argued successfully that the defendants were culpable anyway, citing past prosecutions of criminal accomplices. In a Swedish Supreme Court decision from 1963, he noted, a defendant who held a friend’s coat while the friend beat someone up was considered culpable. The verdict could shatter Sweden’s reputation as a safe haven for content piracy, coming just weeks after a new law that took effect that allows content owners to force internet service providers to reveal subscriber data in piracy investigations. But supporters of copyright reform hope that the trial will energize Swedish youth. One minute after the judgment was public Friday, Sweden’s Pirate Party issued a press release claiming: "The verdict is our ticket to the EU Parliament," referring to the election that takes place in the beginning of June. The party’s top candidate, Christian Engström, comments: "Sweden has now outlawed one of our most successful ambassadors. We have long been a leading IT nation but with these kind of actions we will be left behind and become dependent on other nations’ arbitrary views." Reached by e-mail after the verdict, defendant Gottfrid Svartholm Warg’s sole comment was: "Like a dog!" — the condemned Josef K’s final words in Franz Kafka’s The Trial. In a web-only press conference held two hours after the verdict, Sunde was more upbeat, invoking Hollywood in explaining why he still believes The Pirate Bay’s crew will ultimately prevail. "We see this as a film," he said. "This is the first set-back for the heroes…. In the end we know that the good guys will win, as in all movies." I have the feeling the OP might think that only the dingy sleazy hotels cater for the sex tourist. Every Hotel in Pattaya is girl friendly eg will let you bring a girl back to the hotel, a minority charge extra for bringing a girl back for the night eg a joiner fee. Pattaya is a sex town , everything is out in the open . You can stay at a top class hotel and most of the quests will be sex tourists who bring multiple partners to stay during their duration. If you want to stay at World Class Hotels, the Marriott, Tim Boutique, Dusit D2 , Hard Rock are all 5 star Hotels that don't charge a joiner fee (from reports i have read) The next level down eg 4 to 4.5 Star Hotels their is hundreds of quality hotels to choose from that virtually none will charge a joiner fee. At the lower end there are some quality guesthouses and 3 star Hotels.

Hassle you for what?

a 3500 baht cancellation fee is hardly the end of the world , what do you think is fair compensation for Taking the booking, confirming your reservation , cancellation the reservation, refunding your money especially if both ways its international money exchange. Just below the "confirm booking" button their is "booking conditions" hit it and there is only one booking condition Booking Conditions "Any cancellations are subject to a cancellation fee equal to 100% of the reservation amount. Failure to arrive at your hotel will be treated as a late cancellation and will incur a charge equal to 100% of the reservation amount." It would take you 1 second to read the conditions much much lesss time that it took you to start a thread about it. 2) Travel Insurance

Sabai Empress is the new Prestige Hotel, sort of like a 5 Star Hotel ,very nice rooms and with their massive discounts reasonably priced, i think book rates are about 2500 baht a night which is way over priced , but they are having introductory offers which seem to have been going for six months and the rooms are up to 50% off. Sabai lodge and Sabai Resort are resort hotels , Hotels with a design around luxurious pools and Tranquill Settings, the type of hotel where you could spend 90% of your trip if you wanted to just take it easy. Sabai Inn is directly across the SoI (literally 20 metres) from Sabai Lodge , is a slightly cheaper option than the above two as it doesn't have all the facilities , however you have full use of the Lodges facilities

I think if you read most reports on PBR the noise issue gets mentioned once or twice in each thread.

700 is for the shittiest rooms in the Hotel , the ones in the carpark. The hotel itself is quite good ,4 pools,24 hour security and reception , nice and quiet, reasonably modern, room service, waiter service by the pool , good location etc . I stay at Sabai Lodge but normally get the Deluxe A rooms near the main pool. haven't seen the condition of the cheaper rooms so cant comment on them but highly recomend the Hotel

Whilst we stay in the same Hotel ,Obviously we dont share the same room.

pasadena lodge or billabong hotel (soi lk)
nus01 replied to mark_nufc's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
IMO , its the the only place id stay on that SOI, the rooms are on the small side however, its Lodged away in the corner of the Soi so very little noise, the furnishings and fixtures are modern and its a Hotel not a bar with some rooms above it, so you get dedicated cleaning staff , dont have to walk through a bar full of drunks to get to your room, dont have to put up with the noise from downstairs. Also it has a lift so your not walking up and down stairs all the time. Have stayed there twice and quite like it however you need to get at least a superior room , so for the price you can stay at an Areca Lodge, Sabai Inn , Pattay bay resort etc a resort like Hotel for about 200 baht a night extra which IMO is better value. -
Havent stayed there, however I did go into the hotel and get shown through the rooms, they are very impressive , very modern and with the promotion they were having it was excellent value for money. I would of stayed there in a flash however my buddy likes a balcony so he can sit and smoke on so he didnt want to stay there.

Pretty Poor, IMO the guy gave a pretty balanced view of your place and was rather complimentary except for two things, you respond by calling him "spineless" for not confronting you. He doesn't have to he's the customer why didnt you take the initiative and asked why he was checking out early and if there was anything you could do to rectify it. IMO his reveiw was balanced and wouldnt put me off staying with you, your response would

for a newbie rocket sceince is probably easier, getting a metered taxi to Nanna for 230 or 900 to pattaya , i dont like the chances. Last time I was quoted 1500 upstairs My two bobs worth , I would pre book (not , pre pay) with Ms Ang ang2612@hotmail.com or 086-6055698 she is a little cutie who drives safely. or one of the other touts that appear on the board, sure there are some complaints but in the majority most people are happy with the service. First time in Thailand its nice to arrive and have a friendly face waiting for you with your name on a sign. 1200 baht is around what you'll pay but don't freat too much over price. Its your first time, enjoy your holiday. Whilst you dont want to throw money away dont spend your entire time arguing or worrying over peanuts.

I used to use AVG but too many viruses got through, I now use AVAST and IMO its a lot better

Nice little tip , cheers -
Well if you get unlucky and a full plane your impression wont improve , very narrow seats i'd never fly on a long haul 5+ Hours with them. Fine for zipping about SE Asia on 1-2 hour flights but no longer. MY flight to out of KL was put back 2 hours which was no major hassle , however it does seem they have a lot of cancellations and delays.
