Question about riding scooters on beach
Bullfrog replied to short's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I think he would wear it on the plane... -
When I replied to the mum thread I said that I didn't know where in Surin they were going ... village or city,,,neither do we know the income..I have lived in several Thai villages in Surin and Central Thailand over the last 16 uears and I can assure you toys will be played with and either forgotten or destroyed within a week but the kids will be dead proud of their new clothes showing off to their friends etc....but perhaps you are right..I don't know..

They could play with the empty bottle......
-
Hehehehehe...naughty boy! All I can say regarding the kids is shorts, shirts, blouses, dresses, underpants, school socks and school shoes, a new school bag to put them in and a few bags of jelly sweets....All bought in Big C or Tesco Lotus when you get here and put in a carrier bag you brought with you from your home country....

I have just done exactly the same thing for 3 weeks as my company only allowed me to have a holiday if I logged in each day to sort problems out. I brought my company PC with me with the access software on it but this needed a secure access and my apartment was unsecure WiFi. I purchased a 3g modem from Big C....although 3g is only available in Bangers....the 2g EDGE connection was fine for me to upload excell sheets and power point slides etc Having said that when I went home ooop North it was alot slower so I had to cart my PC to an internet cafe in the village each day

Agree..I do all my flight bookings through him...

Should you pay for Wi-Fi? Airports explore tiered service
Bullfrog replied to bigdelta's topic in Airline Discussion
Agreed...The way things are going the great unwashed will want reclining seats just like us up front....except that they want everything for free and expect somebody else to pay for it...I feel an an analogy coming on.. -
Sorry...Was a bit under the influence...Any information is good information...
-
Sorry but drink prices are just too high for me....

NEWSFLASH....Save 20 Baht everytime you withdraw 20,000 Baht...C'mon Martin you can do better than that!

Maybe I am wrong..

Number portability is available to all operators all over the world but they have to pay licencing and software fees to the vendor.( NSN, Ericsson, ZTE , Huawei etc)which some don't have the money for....They also must have back to back licensing agreements with other local operators...Given that DTAC ( Telenor)are in legal dispute regarding the issue of the 3G licence.... by my old mate Jon Eddy (NOT )......I doubt VERY much that number portability will be available in Thailand for a long time on any worthwhile 3G or LTE network..

Good post with an option of other things for tourists and expats to do..No idea why somebody voted red so I voted green ....
-
But maybe somebody else may want the information and do a search.......

Last year a girl came home to the village proudly showing off her pattaya educated French farang child...my guess he was around 10 years old . He showed no respect to his Thai family and hadn't been taught the difference between confidence and arrogance..She asked me why I didn't send my step children there...I said I couldn't affod it and she left happy..

Agree. I remember when the seatbelt law was introduced in Blighty and it seemed such an awkward pain in the arse to put it on.....now it seems the natural thing to do when jumping in a car..

Can’t Use Your Miles? Comparing Seat Availability Among Airlines

I only mentioned Delta because of LTGR's response to mine..As far as I amm concerned KLM and Kenya airways tick ALL the boxes for me.. -
And you all thought Pol Pot was dead!
Bullfrog replied to paultain's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I really do understand where you are coming from on this and of course my post was severe,,, I remember around '92 in Beijing a bunch of expats got together and started a band that used to play on a Sunday afternoon in a hotel bar for free...it became VERY popular with the expats..so the hotel started charging entance!!..That was it..everybody stopped going...No matter how much money the hotel paid "proffessional" bands it remained empty till I left in '94... -

If your concern is purely cultural then why not just ask people into a local park to play for free and people listen for free just chip in for any permitting or land rental costs..?? I have no problems with Westerners getting arrested for not having a work permit or not paying tax on their incountry earnings...teachers, musicians or bar owners alike..Same as the Polish in England that have taken up my sons' job....If you expect to get paid then get a permit and bloody well pay tax on it! Yanks and English alike rightly complain about illegal workers in their countries...why should we expect to get away with it in Thailand.?. If the guy that was only there for one night and other kareoke singers didn't get paid then they should have nothing to worry about -
Not quite sure if I can explain this properly but where the road loops around when it reaches WS there are a few market alleyways on the inside of the loop. There is a cobbler in there that the missus goes to for emergency repairs when we are in town..

Another good point is to join some sort of hotel point scheme that gives you airmiles.. I joined this one in Feb.. http://www.clubcarlson.com/home.do I stayed in the Radisson in Fornebu, Oslo for about 8 weeks on business and earned 60,000 airmiles!! ....and I checked..they dish out airmiles for Delta too.. -
Loyalty to club for sure but what about his country ?..Did Soljskaer retire from playing for Norway so early??...and Scholes was playing club football in his own country FFS.

There is an even darker side to this though mate....Bloody Plottini is in the background rubbing his hands with anticipation......and his first aim will be to make a GB team represent England, Scotland and Wales...I shudder at the thought.....
