I am glad this thread is still running I want to withdraw this remark. I went to both when my sons visited at Songkran...The P&W had signs on the "nice" tables saying they were only for 6 people or more and the "Bench" seats are no good for 5 people and too uncomfortable anyway. So we walked out without sitting down....Then went to Rosies and every dish we ordered was , cold, undercooked, overcooked...

She loved West Africa, we were there for a couple of years....but this is her first time "Down South" !!!! She has only been here a couple of days and is still wearing a coat indoors...but at night I allow her to cuddle up nice and cosy with me!!!Aaaaaaah!

No Mate, but me and Mrs Bullfrog are back in Namibia now ( she is bloody freezing ) so it will now have to wait untill Xmas which suits me fine cos everything will be paid up and finalised by then ( I hope )...Perhaps we can share a beer when we get back...

Yes this is effectively what happened. I saw the translation and none of the Thais could understand my concern that treatment was only covered for 3 months...TIT

Just in case somebody does a search on the subject, here is an update...I had an appointment to meet them one Saturday morning....and they didn't show up or cancel....
-
Well to be honest, they weren't too clear. The exampe given above of Chemothereapy for cancer was the one that I specifically asked them about but the translated statement said something like I quoted before " All treatment will only be paid for a period of 3 months" and didn't differentiate between in or out patient. It was just a block statement. I didn't go any further because she is now covered by my company's insurance. I just thought it wise to pass on the small amount I was told so that everybody checks their own policies.

Has the Northpoint condo project been adandoned?

They reckoned Sept / Oct for move in....but I am back in Namibia with Mrs Bullfrog now and will be back at Xmas to kick off fitting the rooms out.It depends on my contract here if I move in or rent!!! I took a drive around and quite fancied the Ananya. I visited the show rooms and they start at 100,000/sqm...and most of the rooms don't even directly face the sea but are at an angle!!! Even the View Talay 6s start at around 55/60,000 baht/sqm..... Here is one for you to discover...can you walk or take a bike through the paths at the back from Nova Mirage to the Sanctuary of Truth. I have been to both "ends" in the car and it certainly looks possible without going through the grounds of that big hotel ( forgotten the name now). -
Hi Mate, the SITUATION of me being in between contracts was temporary. The Health Insurance Policy purchased was an annual one for a Thai with worldwide coverage. Yep Dave..it certainly looks like a Thai thing..but have you checked if yours is only for 3 month treatment????
-
I used the place regularly over Songkran because my family were visiting and my Mother needed some farang food ( which was very good BTW). Anyway, to your point, whilst I was in there I saw no free talent as all girls seemed to already be with someone. Now then, two reasons why I could be wrong..1. I was with Mrs Bullfrog and have no need to look too closely......2. We were mainly in daytime and were never in after 10pm..as my Mum wanted to tour the bars on Soi 2 & 3!!!

On the 7 July Mrs Bullfrog was taken ill around midnight at the Sabai Lodge and an Ambulance from BKK Pattaya hospital was called. They had to stop halfway there to give her treatment. On arrival everything was very proffessional and I was given a choice of rooms and I chose the best and was told the cost and informed that the insurance didn't cover that much and that I would have to pay the difference myself. They were open about my choices and what I would have to pay for myself, so I had no problems there. I have to say the room, treatment and service was exemplory Anyway, she recovered and we later returned to the village where we were visited by the AIA Rep. She then went through the whole claim with Mrs Bullfrog whilst I cowered in the corner waiting for her to be told about my decision on the room At this stage I was summoned to the table and I explained to them that it was a concious and informed decision and didn't mind ( all this with Mrs Bullfrog glowering at me!!) They then gave me a translation of the main points which I just scanned through untill I got to the bottom...ALL TREATMENT WILL ONLY BE PAID FOR A PERIOD OF 3 MONTHS!!! I said what happens if she gets Cancer and needed longer term treatment. The Rep just said " Cannot do in Thailand" I was dumb struck. This is the 27,000 Baht policy and I asked if I paid more...even as much as a standard European policy...could she be covered by a longterm treatment policy and got the same reply "Cannot do in Thailand" Anyway, we don't have a problem with this because of my company's European policy. The AIA one was purely a temporary stopgap between contracts....but perhaps you should check yours just in case... Or perhaps the Rep was just lying TIT..

Has the Northpoint condo project been adandoned?
Bullfrog replied to jackcorbett's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Yes mate, two weeks ago I was able to gain access to my two studios for viewing purposes and was quite pleased with the view from my balconies on the 5th floor of building B of Nova Mirage. Also it was possible to view the electrical work and it was all done to a good standard. I am quietly pleased with my purchases. -
Have done...

She makes you a morning cup of coffee using instant gravy powder!!!!

I live in a village near KPPT. I already have house and car so 3 to 400 baht a day is plenty to live off. I will soon have purchased two studios in Naklua for holiday trips down with the family so for me 30k a month is still doable but voted 40k to be realistic ( and because 30k isn't listed 15k food and beer.( Bought fresh and cheap in local markets and shops...fish free from the river!!). 10k overheads. Electricity / petrol/ schools etc. 5k HEALTH INSURANCE! 10K holidays every 2 months or local trips to waterfalls etc. ....................
-
Thanks Mate..yes of course I understand the implications of Nova giving me the details of this company. My problem is that I am only in LOS for a couple of weeks in July to come collect Mrs Bullfrog and drag her back to Africa again. My next trip will be Xmas.So time for investigation is limited. If you know of any other "full turnkey" companies can you give me their details...

I am buying a couple of "Shell" Studios at Nova Mirage, Naklua. One company that has been given to me for decorating them by Nova is Paradise City Property. 1. Has anybody had any experiences with them (good or bad)? 2. Who did your shell decoration and were you pleased? 3. Does anybody have any other recommendations. Thanks

I entered the site but couldn't find the location map an anybody help...... I did, however, discover that they have a "Lush" Garden.....just right for me then

Work Permit requirements getting more and more strict and additional
Bullfrog replied to LocalYokul's topic in Expat Issues
Those that were working here '97 \ 98 will be aware: it was dream world for us but hell for locals. Thai Baht for the pound went from 30 something to 80 something ( I know a keyboard warrior will correct me),Jobs were lost and face saving was impossible Of course it will ballance out...But why does any Farang think he can do a better job than a Thai national in the position he is now holding? This is what confuses me? Aqua4...I tried to PM you ...I am in Namibia now...fancy a pint??? -
Isn't that the place where you were really unhappy about people spitting in your face and interlopers using the pool??
-
Does Daddy know you posted this???

The areas of the beach that I visited before signing my condo contract seemed OK...Lets hope that with the new developments shooting up on that last stretch of road will improve the condition and facilities along Wongamat...

Mr Miser, This is excellent. I too have stayed there but forgot the name and Mrs Bullfrog lost the hotel business card.. It is in a good location and the rooms are better than the nautical. As for mongering; when my son stayed at sabai Lodge he was taking girls from Soi 1 , 2, and 3... I think he enjoyed the barracking he got from previous conquests!!! It is also part of the complex for one of the best curries in town ( Mrs Bullfrog loves the Yum Talay there )...Unfortunately, if you are on a high floor there is no lift which is not too good for this Bullfrog's aged, and often drunken, legs.... I will pass this one onto my son too!!!

Bullfrog...you wanker....sober up man.. they are 44 sqm not 40 sqm...this equates to 32,000 per sqm...
