Hi Mirky / Kev, Yep that does seem very expensive. I am buying two studios (40 sqm) side by side on the 5th floor of Nova Mirage at Wongamat and they are only around 1.4m each off plan and in farang name...although only empty shells. They are due to be finished in September and I will decide what to do with them end of the year. I might keep one + rent/sell one or knock through for a double unit. Either way I will only be using them for weekend visits from KPPT so 40 sqm is fine for me....

I have used Nautical several times over the years ..even before 5 Star bar opened. Well, my son is now a fan of the bar and wants to stay near there in July. Any recommendations on hotels near soi 11, Beach road for a 22 year old hormone filled Englishman??? Phone numbers would be usefull too ( Of hotels I mean)....

Anyone that uses Asiarooms.com knows it can be hit and miss...sometimes you get a bargain...sometimes you don't, it all depends on the hotel. I have just been browsing the site for my son and noticed that Sabai Lodge is now listed whereas it wasn't before so I thought I would let you all know. I have never stayed in a Dolphin Pool room so this is not a recommendation but a "Heads Up". It is listed as 983 Baht, including breakfast...which seems OK to me.....I paid 1,350 for a Sabai Wing in April, with no breakfast so this seems a good deal.

Yep...I spent years drinking Saysap degree.....but at least I seem to have a brain cell left!!

This is spooky!! I was looking through the photos and decided to reply about 39 aswell. I had an excellent time in your bar over Xmas and I am sure it was with 39...The girl I was with had recently returned from a relationship in UK and was from Issan and spoke good English and Issan Kmer. She was great company and a good laugh. I have given up mongering so didn't BF her...but I would love to see photos if somebody did!!!

Since the new airport opened I used the airport Limo service regularly. You would enter the arrivals hall book a limo and have a nice sit down in a courtesy seating lounge area with a drink whilst the car was brought round and you were then escorted a matter of yards to the car.The cost of this extra ""Luxury" was worth it if you could afford it. - The seating area has now gone. - The car is further away. - They are now manned by people that are worse than the touts outside the arrival hall. - Prices are now extortionate such that, although I can afford it, it is NOT worth it. I have used Mr Toom for day trips into BKK and was very pleased with the service.

There is no rule that covers all here. All I suggest is do what you have to the first trip..read advice on here then once you know your budget and the choices of hotel in the area you want do the following. 1. Check the website prices but don't book. 2. Check the prices on Asiarooms.com for the week you want. 3. Call the hotel for their "Best Price" 4. Send them an Email asking for a quote. Book the cheapest way...I find doing 2 and 4 is enough for me. I have just stayed in the Sabai wing of Sabai Lodge, double room, for 1350 a night.

I am in town for a couple of weeks and want to make a will for the apartments I am buying in Naklua. I am sure at least ONE BM has started a thread covering this...Can anybody give me any recommendations based on up-to-date experiences...?? Thanks
-
Thanks very much mate. The reviews for this place on Asiarooms are all good. I am just waiting for a reply from Leetours on Soi Post office to see what they can suggest. The family fly in on Thursday; so Friday will be decision time!!!

I am considering staying on Koh Chang 14 to 22 April but would like to hear some recommendations. The difference? 1. I will need a 3 bedroom bungalow or 3 hotel bedrooms for Me + Mrs Bullfrog, my two 20yr old sons and my 85yr old Mother. So it needs to have easy access to the beach but in a location that has easy access to bars cos we all like a drink. My sons just want a laugh rather than BFs so it doesnt have to have BGs!! 2. The journey from Patts to hotel should be door to door and hastle free!! i.e. no fucking around with suitcases on and off transport and boats....etc Thanks

Well the two that spring to my mind immediately are 1. Nova Lodge, perfect location for beach and bars, good breakfast, lovely gardens and pool, book through Asiarooms.com and it is less than 1,000 ......BUT THE ROOMS ARE SHIT!!! 2. I used to stay at the Nautical near Soi 11 in my mongering days. Book a room by the pool and it is less than 1,000. It is on beach road and has an excellent bar at the entrance ( which I still use) and near an Indian restuarent... but sorry I don't have a phone number But the one I use mostly is Sunshine vista on Soi 3...book it through Asiarooms.com and depending on the date it can be less than 1,000. It is an easy walk to the beach, shops and bars and has a small pool on the roof....

Continental Airlines in big heap of trouble
Bullfrog replied to zaphodbeeblebrox's topic in Airline Discussion
Rachel Collier and her teacher were left to find their own hotel for the night and had to buy clothes and toothbrushes because their luggage was already on the plane. Well now we have a new terrorist tactic...stick a bomb in a suitcase, check it in.......get a coughing fit and leave the plane!!!! -
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in in Thailand...About 4 years ago, when I was living in BKK, we travelled to Patts for NYE but didn't book in advance and ended up having to stay there. What an absolute fucking shithole my worst trip ever. But more concern for Cherry bar and Hammer....hope we are not lking at another Suk 10 scenario

Looks like here will be a few BMs there then...I have 3 rooms booked in Sabai Wing in April..We will be easy to spot.... a fat 50 yr old Bullfrog with the most beautifull woman in the world on my arm, 3 Thai children, my 2 twenty year old Farang sons and my 85year old Mother It was KED that handled my email booking..... BTW the bars at soi 2 and 3 are also my favourite......but a trip to FLB is a must of course!!!

RightSaid back in town - 27th March 2007

Hi Mate, I have been in TQ2 several times and recommend it to anyone...unfortunately I shan't be around on 27th but I'll be bringing my 2 sons in in April. Have a good night! -
Could you include your thoughts on the wine list next time you visit a restaurant? I visited the same place about a year ago and there was a very limited choice of red available and no cold white wine so I just turned tail and left. When I go for seafood / Lobster I always check out the fridge first!!!

I had spent some time looking around the Sabai Resort with the Manager there... I really liked the bungalows right at the back of the resort but they couldn't provide a guarentee that they would be open in April. I followed this up with mails which was when they offered me this deal..I think it is also a good deal because I have booked 3 rooms over a 3 week period...
-
It doesn't just happen on this board...Last year I sat down at a machine and it was still logged on to Adultfriendfinders.com!!!!
-
I have never stayed there before but I have booked up Sabai Wing for 3 weeks in April at 1350 Baht per room ( I have booked 3 rooms). My 'normal" hotel at Sunshine vista only has a small rooftop swimming pool and this is a big family holiday of 5 adults and 3 children so it is more important than usual. But after reading this thread I now have severe reservations about whether I have done the right thing

I have had bank accounts with Thai Farmers ( Kasikorn) for more than 10 years and I haven't had any problems with them so far. Having said that....I would like to know the name of the bank that pays the best interest to Farangs....some don't pay interest toFarang at all...
