I went when it first opened and the food was great quality and plenty of it....about 2 months down the road and the service was terrible and the food looked like it was on a budget....shame. It is a complete dive of a joint. (and i dont remember the price but it wasnt 500baht....more like 650). You wouldnt want to leave ANY valuables in the room whatsoever and tha safes at reception are only available to open up until 9pm. So if you dont plan ahead and have suitable cash//atm on you beforehand then you can end up with everything locked away til morning. It has got location going for it...beach rd and on the baht bus route, but there are much better choices out there.

I think if the idea is right then there is always room for a successful bar. In lamai this year there was a great bar (some irish name) and they had just the best girly rock band playing. I agree with pattaya pete! Scrap the aircard idea and go out and buy a second hand sony k750. It comes with all the software you need for an automatic connection. (and has the usb cable with it). Simply go into tuk com and get a net sim (1 2 call) Put into phone and run the sony net connection icon (letting it automatically detect settings,numbers etc......sorted When your not using the net you can just unplug and use as regular phone.

If you read an old post of Pattaya pete (who must be the ultimate tv guru) you will see that he uses slingbox at his biz location and the speed is ok HOWEVER on his normal speed net connection at home, he says slingbox is unusable! Incidently if your computer doesnt have a TV out signal then go to tukcom 3rd floor (cheapo shop with all the boxes on floor)and buy a PC to TV box (which takes power from usb) and converts the monitior out plug to normal TV signal (or svideo). It costs around 800baht. Although it doesnt help you with the american sports problem , i get my regular UK TV str

mmm dunno about lcd inverter.....my initial thinking was that the fault would have been in the ribbon connector that goes from the screen to the base. (hence when you adjust the angle you are moving the ribbon at the joint slightly). Obviously replacing the ribbon would be pennies......but a LCD invertor.......sounds expensive just a thought

I use skype and other net phone service regularly and let me tell you that sometimes the quality is terrible. Sometimes it drops the call for no reason whatsoever! Also the net can go off and on several times a day for no aparent reason. All in all its a bit hit and miss and i wouldnt like to be rely on it from a business perspective.
