  1. Tesco do an internet phone now and it works out really cheap. I brought one over here to LOS and call worldwide for pennies. They also give you a local number for free so anyone can call u cheaply. www.tescointernetphone.com
  2. yip i went when it first opened. It ended up costing a fortune. All the staff get confused with "attentive" and "leering over" The surroundings are nice but in the end your gonna pay through the nose for the eye candy. The food was small portioned and un-inspiring.(served on a COLD plate so the food froze up quite quickly). (also got 1 order wrong) Wine was expensive. A total waste of time and money ..........(incidently i used a 20percent discount card....and it still cost a fortune) (FYI...The best restaurant have been in is the swiss restuarant in soi diamon
  3. mate...i totally relate to this as my TG says the name of this joint exactly the same.. When she wants a steak she says "tonight you want go chuk wow?"
  4. i know a bar owner that brought several pets from uk. So it can be done. He needed certificates from uk vets and then he had some paperwork filled in from some importation dept situated next to Don muang airport. Cant remember the exact dept but if your serious about this then i will find out for you. The upshot of it was that the animals only had to be inspected quickly and they were cleared within hours of arriving by plane. Incidently the animals arrived on a separate plane from him (i guess they're just treated like live-stock cargo!) They're now living happily in Patts
  5. RE-slingbox As an alternative to the slingbox then you could use www.liveuktv.com You sign up and then they send you the streamed uk tv channels.(+sky1) either live or 5hr,8hr or 16hr delay you can also record it onto your pc with WMrecorder 11. This software helps smooth out any poor connection speed by joining any hiccups in the stream. I output it to a 29in tv and the quality is fine.(they also give you bypass url's depending on where in the world the best server is. i use the cybergold package from TOT. The negative is that it is £25 per month. Obviously this
  6. Curruption: I had a laughable 30mins observing the cop at the bottom of soi post office (at beach rd). He always sits there and i counted 3 farang in 30mins, coming down the wrong way. They were stopped and sent to Police station (via motorcycle taxi). The laughable bit was he let 2 thai bike drivers go!!!!! If it had been me i would have palmed 200baht behind my licence to the cop. Save all the hassle of course if it had been me, i wouldnt have went down in the first place
  7. On the subject of the cloak. Is there another proxy route you could take to fool some uk-based radio stations into thinking i,m in the uk. Many block their stream if they know you have a non-uk ip address. Streaming TV is the next big thing on the net and it will hit some of the problems that net radio has just now. Already on-demand tv is being uk IP address checked Sky anytime 4-OD ntl on demand Thank goodness for www.liveuktv.com ok you need to give them £25 every month but their service is ace. Their line-up even includes sky 1 as well as the regular uk channels
  8. Stories like this just make you examine your brain when owning or running any business in thailand! Thailand REALLY needs to worry about the arse falling out of the farang market (both expat and tourists) Have we all out-stayed our welcome here? I will never understand why such a religious (and karma related country) find it acceptable to cheat, kill ,steal etc another human being so easily. I,m not putting everyone into the same pigeon hole (as i know MANY good hearted thais that WOULD NEVER shit on anyone)...however it is apparent that there must be a lot of hypocrites (in po
  9. Just a quick note to say that Danny & Rob of naughty girls agogo (soi diamond) wish to invite all Board Members to their easter party on sunday 8th April. There will be easter bunny girls galore and the customary pig and food will be laid on as usual. Introduce yourself and have a great night!!!!! vid
  10. I tried the food one time (fish and chips) and it was disgusting. It looked like they had used very old black cooking oil and i have never returned. Vid
  11. If you get stopped in a car for speeding (or no apparent reason) then just fold any note and give it to them...they wont look at the note right away. Also they tend to accept a smaller bribe if you have any thais in the vehicle. Another quick true story: A friend of mine done a tour up to chiang mai in his pickup and got stopped an amazing 4 times (he drives like a maniac)...anyway he is really abnoxious and swore and shouted at the police. ( a lot of shit really about 'do u have photo of me speeding etc) He also instructed his TG that she cannot speak english and that he d
  12. hi rambo, can i just compliment you on your rippling musles....you must be at tony gym everyday! 13. The Mcshit one is a cracker and the beer coat and compass are worn by me every night here in pattaya!! Can anyone think of any that might relate to pattaya life?

  15. Have a look at LK royal suites at the beginning of soi baukaw...they tick all the boxes............however at 80,000 baht a month they might be over your budget!!!! I believe they give a discount for long stay ( maybe 20percent.) OK so this info is absolutely no use to you but i suggest you take a look whilst your here anyway....you'll be blown away. If your earning cash working from condo and want all your luxuries then this is the joint for you. Jacuzzi large bath/ shower room ensuite 4 balconies plush leather furniture internet phone full euro kitchen (stove, microwav
  16. Sorry....yeah i meant the tennis and fitness centre. (which i cut my foot on a tile in the pool yesterday incidently) I keep forgetting he owns half of pattaya
  17. Im hedging bets that it,s "palm garden hotel" just before the dolphin roundabout.......a very old hotel by pattaya's standards.
  18. Remember that when you reach your silver card status, you will have access to the second business lounge at dubai airport. Whilst everyone else is sleeping on the floor outside, you will be in leather luxury with all the freebies!!!!! Also note that you can sometimes buy emirates flights cheaper than the official emirates web site. Try e-bookers etc. My last flight was actually £150 cheaper thru asda.com. Even though other web sites ask for your skywards number, they might "forget" to credit your miles. A simple email to emirates will sort it out though (but you are DUE them).
  19. There are brand new apartments just past tonys gym on 3rd rd (across from soi 17 triangle section) towards soi korpai (everyone knows this terrible junction)...anyway 7000bt a month has swimming pool air conditioning security private parking big fridge,tv,cable etc balcony overlooking pool prima place complex (3 bulidings)
  20. hi cookie, just a wee note to congratulate you on a superb guest house. I liked the decor in the restuarant area and its places like yourself that is bringing the soi bukaw area upmarket. Youll remember you and i had the laugh about making a robbie williams bus run (alas he cancelled)!! keep up the good work!
  21. I agree Your idea of transfers from the airport to pattaya is a better one than the visa idea. Throw in 2 sexy girls and give a VIP transfer. Not exactly "the mile high club" but damn close.
  22. Stayed there several times: Last year their rates were great (even had a special offer of book 4weeks get 1 week free )...i dunno what happened this year...prices shot up!!! Staff are friendly Breakfasts are bland (thats if you get up in time...which i didnt) I believe the internet was only on the first few floors but may have changed. They also have an over-priced public intenet machine in the lobby. (security bloke must have a secret code because they are always hogging it) Pool is tiny but you can have a beer as a small bar is built into the pool. Forget about exten
  23. I have done 8hr stops at dubai before and it aint such a big deal. !st up ,go to one of the info desks at the top of the escalator and ask which gate your connecting flight is at ( the display boards are terrible as there are so many flights and the flight is nearly taking off by the time it comes up. Then halfway along the upstairs section is a "sleeper lounge" which has reclined ,fixed ,leather type chairs. They keep this area quiet (well quieter). TIP: remember to grab your emirates blanket off your previous flight, so u can get cosy!!!!!!!

As with everything in thailand......you can haggle i guess. Example: when i joined for a year i only wanted to pay 6000baht , although to get this offer you technically need 2 to join at the same time. With a bit of smiling and joking, the rule was by-passed!!!! It was the best 6000baht i have spent.
  25. Obviously in-built wlan will vary from notebook to notebook depending on the position on the motherboard etc. If you get a good signal (i.e not stealinga signal from the guy half-way down the street) then great ,but if you are having probs then consider the following http://www.usbwifi.orcon.net.nz/
