I can't imagine any Thai would like the book. Would probably piss them off, even if the stereotype is focused on Issan girls they deem to be beneath them.

Your best option for a 29 night visit...
gaijin replied to spike's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
My first option would always be VT6, the rooms, view, and location is just so awesome. But it will cost you. For your kind stay of 29 days, I would check out KTK. There are 2 different KTK's. The one on 2nd road is the old crappy one. The one I'm talking about is on Soi Anunothai I think it was, but I could be wrong. From Pattaya Klang you turn in as if going towards Amari Nova, go past that all the way to the end is KTK. The rooms look very nice and prices are excellent. -
How many more times are we going to see this?

Negotiating at the police station? What the fuck is there to negotiate about? Makes me sick that the entire police station is in on the scam. Feel sorry for the poor lads, they likely never were given a warning not to rent the jet skis because of the scams. -
Even the sand is dirty as hell. While sitting under the umbrellas I dug my feet into the sand and felt disgusted after I looked at the sand. I've never seen dirty oily sand before.

They've never charged me deposit. Perhaps you are booking for too many days or too soon? Then again, they know me by first name by now, I've stayed there on 4 trips now.

Funny I smoke a lot more when I'm in pattaya than I do at home. Like nearly a pack day vs just one or two cigs or none at all. I like to do what I normally cannot do in CA, like smoke in bars and fucking as many girls as my dick can handle.

Alot of HOT young girls are there during May ?
gaijin replied to bryaniowa's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
May is hot as hell. But then it's always hot as hell. Pleanty of girls in May, not much different from any other month. -
Right, hand over my money to a complete stranger on the internet. Claims he will meet you in person to try and put you at ease that his will not try and screw you out of your money by just disappearing one day. Anyone who falls for this probably deserves to have his money stolen.

I'm interested to see how the Cathay Pacific Premium economy seats look like. Their Economy seats with the hardback shell is fucking horrible. Just flew Eva's Elite class round trip and must say was very satisfied with the seat. Just a little wider but sorely needed space. Much more leg room, and even has foot rest that comes up as you recline.

EVA AIR £585 Selected dates throughout April
gaijin replied to chatkeow's topic in Airline Discussion
Flew Eva out of SFO and upgraded to Elite Class few weeks ago. Love the Eva Elite class or aka Premium Economy seats. Almost like Business class seats but way cheaper. -
I just stayed at the Sea Me Spring for the last 2 weeks, and yes Soi 10 is open and clear of all debris. Good thing is it is a 2 way Soi for motobikes at least, I loved the ease of access to the hotel since I ride motobikes.

I've visited the Sandy Spring before to check out their rooms and I was very unimpressed. The rooms look very tired and dirty. I just stayed at the Sea Me Spring on Soi 10 and it was pretty good. Only complaint is the room could use some brighter lights. Check it out, has much better prices that Sandy Spring. I could have had a Sea View room for 2200 with the member discount, but chose the deluxe room instead for 1790, I still had a bit of a sea view just on a lower floor. You do have to buy the member card for 300 baht however but it not only lowers the price by 300 baht per night but also there won't be a weekend surcharge. Completely worth it

Most of those room pictures look like 2 bedroom rooms, or at least I've never stayed in those before. The last two pictures look more familiar being the 1 bedroom. RG is always a good deal for very reliable room and service. Unfortunately they're just a little away from the hustle and bustle and foot traffic. I'm going to be staying at RG for one night tomorrow night and then try and move on to either Sea me Spring, Page 10, or maybe Amari Nova.

Anyone else noticed a drop in food quality at PBG lately?
gaijin replied to frostfire's topic in Restaurants and food
LoL that death drop has gotten me a few times. Thanks for reminding me as I'll be visiting in a few weeks. -
New "gentlemens club" opening soon.

The Addicts board raves about this place yet the reviews are not so glowing on this forum. Anyone else been here recently and can give an honest review? I'd rather not listen to lapdogs or those with secretive business interests giving bullshit reviews. -
Sunshine and snow in the Tyrolean Alps, Jan 2012

Nice pictures and thanks for sharing. I live a 3-4 hour's drive from some awesome skiing myself, Lake Tahoe ski resorts. -
View Talay 6 is one of the more pricey condos due to its excellent location. Especially the ones with a sea view. I stayed in one for two weeks last trip and I loved it. Everything you need right there in he building; massage, cafe, laundry, minimart. I rent motobikes and always felt safe to leave my bike in the garage. Security watches the garage at all times. I think it'd great for a long stay, if you're ok with the price.

It would be nice to get unbiased opinions from those who are not owners or affiliated with the hotel. You're a little obvious in who you are.

I always bring all my spending money in cash. I just keep most of it in the safe. When I run low on baht I usually exchange $4-600 at a time. Watch your pockets at all times, especially if you feel someone bumps into you. I usually wear cargo shorts with either zippered or buttoned pockets so its not easy to reach in.

Guesthouses/ Hotels full for New Years Eve?
gaijin replied to m_holmes's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
For a little bit more than the price for a guest house I'm sure there are many hotels available. Residence Garden always seems to have rooms. Very good value -
Take a look at Page 10 hotel. Also Residence Garden.

How do you bargain down hotel prices?
gaijin replied to Obsession's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
April Suites is right behind August Suites, down some smaller soi I don't know what, if you were to ask at August they'll be happy to show you. I had a list of hotels to check out and bargain with when I went out one afternoon to do so. I also ride a motobike so I get around pretty fast. Sure some hotels are booked up quite a bit and will have no problem turning away potential customers, but if they have lots of vacancy and are trying to fill rooms, then I'm sure they'll be willing to come down some. -
I've heard a lot about this also. That would definitely keep me away. I don't want to have picked up a hot 19yr old only to get shit from the staff over it. If under 18, then yes thanks for saving my ass, but 18 and over, who's the customer here?

How do you bargain down hotel prices?
gaijin replied to Obsession's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
No actually I just happened to ride by to check out KTK and recognized the name of the place, and chanced it. I had also stopped by August Suites and April Suites, August was all booked, April had many rooms available as they were still new then. This was back in Feb. '11. I bargained the April room from ~2500 down to 2000. I probably would have taken it it weren't for View Talay 6 had a cancellation and I swooped that up right away, that was a great decision. The Amari Nova room was extremely fancy, but I wanted the room for 2000 baht or less and the receptionist had gone down as low as she could I believe. Probably couldn't give it to me for 2000 because all their studio rooms were booked, and only had the 1 br available, some people were probably paying more for the studio than what she offered the 1 br to me. If I had gotten it down to 2000 baht that would have been a hard decision versus the View Talay 6 room. The key to bargaining for hotel rooms is to always have other options available. I was already staying at the Residence Garden and am quite content with it. So if nothing worked out I wasn't going to be ass out on the Sois. Don't show that you love the room or that you must have the room, show a little interest that you want it, but only on your terms, and be prepared to walk. When the pretty Amari Nova girl first told me 4000 baht I gave a real mortified look, and just countered with 2000 baht and held there, and I really wasn't prepared to pay more than that especially for so many nights. I totally woulda asked her if her sweet little ass came with the room if it weren't for others standing behind me in line! For 1-2 nights though, I'm splurged and paid monstrous prices, high end cabin room in Lake Tahoe ski resort, suite in LAs Vegas, etc.
