This sounds on the expensive side. Based on my recollection, the van and driver costs about 1000 baht. The vans carry 10 passengers. At one point, one of the bars was doing it for 200 baht and it included two beers for the road trip.

I spent a couple nights in the suite. Not worth the extra money. They just spread the same furniture over a bigger area.

Just read in the Bangkok Post that the newest problem with the flooding is cars being parked and abandoned on the elevated roadways. This affects not only regular traffic but also flood control vehicles carrying sand etc. The reality is that SoonWanaBoomboom airport could be shut down. Wondering how the trail from Bangkok to Pattaya will be affected. Have to admire the reslilence of the Thai people during this difficult time.

Iv'e taken Thai Air the last two years and it is on an A340. Video at each seat. My problem is that I have to take two flights just to get to LA. Thai, United, and Continental are in the same FF group but not totally interoperative. United and Continental can't see executive economy seats on Thai and Thai doesn't seem will to book the entire trip. Just hope that whoever is carrying me to LAX doesn't screw up.

In Tops on Central road between Beach Rd and 2nd Rd there is a watch and eyeglass shop. The guy in there has kept my Citizen watch alive when nobody in the states could. With the exception of the extremely expensive watches, most watches made today including the fakes share the same group of parts.
