  1. The absolutely stunning...... Scarlett Johansson
  2. Fully settled back into the monotony of life in the UK. Next six month trip to Thailand the only thing getting me up in the mornings.

  3. I haven't been around for a while. I'd just like to say that since then my team have become a force again. UNITED TWENTY TIMES TWENTY TIMES MAN UNITED TWENTY TIMES TWENTY TIMES I SAY TWENTY TIMES TWENTY TIMES MAN UNITED PLAYING FOOTBALL THE MATT BUSBY WAY
  4. That's two games in a row where United have played well and were a pleasure to watch. It's been a long time since I could say that, I wonder if the "philosophy" is finally coming to fruition? Some good football was played in the first half and there are lots of positives to take from that game, with United inevitably going to buy more players in the summer I think they will definitely be able to go one better next season. Apart from assisting the goal I thought Di Maria was poor again, I don't think he will be around much longer because along with him and Falcao it just doesn't seem to be happ
  5. I tried to get some travellers cheques two years ago and I got told that very few places cash them now because they are being phased out. I didn't bother in the end. Get yourself a Thai bank account, before you go to Thailand you can transfer your money.
  6. No, both times I didn't have any ID whatsoever. I got a 500 baht fine in Surin and a 400 baht fine in Pattaya. The police took my keys off me and I had to go to the police station and pay the fine before returning, fortunately the policeman was still there with my keys!
  7. I've never carried any ID in Thailand, not even a copy of it. I've been pulled over twice in the last two months for not having a motorcycle helmet on and although I was asked both times for ID I didn't experience any extra bother because I didn't have any. Was I just lucky both times?
  8. Exactly. The first step is recognising the problem and genuinely wanting to change. Most alcoholics don't make it that far and many are very happy to drink themselves to death.
  9. Depends on the individual. AA isn't for everyone but there's no doubt that it does work for thousands of people the world over. I went twice but left both times before I even started the twelve steps. I found the whole thing very cultish and didn't relish the prospect of sitting in a church hall three times a week for the rest of my life. I like to think I have the problem under control now and I did that without the aid of AA. Some people need it some people don't. I do think that many people use AA as a crutch.
  10. Sorry to be pedantic but surely 400 milliliters of alcohol would be the equivalent of 400 grams? Even so it's a huge amount of alcohol to be consuming on a daily basis. I watched a video on You Tube recently about the number of homeless foreigners living on the streets in Pattaya (many of which are alcoholics) which is growing every year. Many of them are known to the authorities and they do nothing about it.
  11. I walk from the Nana sky train station to near the Thong Lo sky train station almost every morning at some point between 0100 and 0400. I can't say I have seen anyone being searched by the police recently or have I seen much of a police presence at that time.
  12. Well I've been drinking the water from these machines for over a month now and so far no adverse side effects.
  13. Shaw was our best player in that game? He has an impressive track record for someone whose philosophy is a mirage? I agree with getting back to basics though, 4-4-2 every game instead of this three at the back nonsense, it's not the United way and never will be. Van Gaal is just being ostentatious and stubborn with this.
  14. United were awful yesterday and to see them playing the long ball game breaks my heart, is this what we have been reduced to now? Absolutely shocking considering the players that they have. Van Gaal says it will take time for his philosophy to come to fruition but at times it seems that they aren't progressing at all and he is being very stubborn by continuing to play some people out of position. It clearly isn't working with Rooney in midfield and Herrera should be starting every game because he is probably our most creative midfield player, yesterday we created nothing and it was absolute ga
  15. The new law is in force in all the places I have been to in Bangkok in the last month. Only just the other day I had to wait until 1700 before they'd sell me some beer in the 7 near our place. As someone has already said, the independent shops will still sell you alcohol at any time.
  16. Spent 5000 baht in Nana last night but took my own bottle of water to Tesco Lotus when I ate because it saves money. Go figure!
