I have found Fair Properties to be less than helpful and in fact just do not seem interested. The latest incident was just a couple of weeks ago when I made an enquiry about a short term rental in May (low season) in any of 3 large condo blocks. Their reply came back - nothing available and no alternatives offered. No way I will be bothering with them again.

Not interested in buying the bar but like you Martin I too like Yu a lot and wish them every success in their future plans.

Just booked Melb/Bkk return with Thai in May for A$870 incl taxes. Best deal I have found in the last 6 years. Qantas is a shit airline so I could just imagine what their budget version would be like - not for me.

jrunion, Rideher Cup is traditionally held on the first Monday in November with registrations the previous evening at FLB and presentation party there on the Monday night after the golf. I would thoroughly recommend the event and a great time is assured and based upon your employment a few good yarns could take place with the U.S. captain.

No practise needed here. With a perfect record like mine who need practise. As this is my arrival day some other type of practise may be in order though.

No problems M'8. Hard to make plans in LOS but I know for sure that I will be in FLB on the nights of 5 and 6 November. November 5 is Loy Krathong but will be there for a while for Rideher Cup golf registrations and November 6 is the post event party and presentations - always a great night. If you are a golfer (even a hacker like myself) you would be most welcome to play - look in the golf section of this Board to express your interest. Good luck with your accomodation.

Willys, Lack of handicap card is not an issue for the Rideher Cup. It is a fun event and many participants(including myself) do not have an official handicap and in these cases handicaps are allocated on an honour system by the organiser. Rental clubs are available - best to let Doggie know beforehand so that he can organise. Again, registration on the evening before the event (Sunday) is just a matter of turning up at FLB around 8:00pm. Doggy, Tentative dates for me will be arrive 28 October and will have 3 weeks. May spend the last week in P.I. and miss the road trip but this is still up in the air. Biggest problem will be finding a Rideher Cup team that will accept me with a view to keeping my perfect four out of four record in tact.

Used Directrooms for hotel booking in Bkk last October(they had the best price on the hotel I wanted). Their service was very efficient and no problems with the booking. Also used them to pre-book transport to the hotel but would not recommend this as this service was way overpriced.

Forgot to mention earlier, I used Directrooms last time again for Bkk hotel. They were excellent and were very particular in getting all details correct. For the place I stayed they were also the cheapest.

All four Ridher Cup events to date have been at the same time of year - first Sunday/Monday in November. I think it best you check with doghaus if you need to know now the probable date this year. Loy Krathong falls in early November this year which could have an affect on the timing of the Cup.

Stayed there for a couple of nights in November. Not too good if you are a smoker (not sure if all rooms are non-smoking) but you had to go out on the small balcony for a ciggy and out there had the noisy airconditioning blowing hot air at you.
