The body armor was adopted because guys were getting killed and maimed in such numbers that the government was considering banning the sport outright. I'll give them rugby as being a man's game. The shirts are getting a bit passe though. As far as baseball, a Canadian team has won the World Series, and in the recently-completed World Baseball Classic the US only made it to the semifinals. The final was between Korea and Japan, and Japan won. Congrats to them, both they and the Koreans played a hell of a tournament. I watched much of it in the US before coming to Thailand.

The Americans whose intelligence is in question can mostly be found at a certain bar on Soi Khao Noi.

Not sure about the bus, but you can bet they have some sort of transport. BTW, note that the process is that you claim your baggage, go through customs, then you are dumped out of the "sterile" area and back out in the insecure area. You immediately turn your bag back in to ground personnel and proceed to your next flight. Hope this helps. Safe trip and all that.

The cops will in general be pretty lenient toward the bars, as the bars pay them. If you were to get roughed up and have your camera taken you'd need to be backed up by Thai witnesses or the cops would simply ask you for proof it happened that you wouldn't be able to provide. Even with Thai witnesses it might not matter, such as if one the bar's security is the son of a powerful cop or other high-placed figure. You never know what you're up against when in a dispute like this; by far the best course of action is to avoid it in the first place.

Hey, thanks for reading guys! It was not as spicy as I prefer it, but still tasted quite nice. Actually, when I want steak I go to Patrick's Belgian Restaurant, which is in the plaza next to Kiss Food (opposize size of Second Rd. from Mike's Shopping Mall). I will probably give this place a full write-up in the future, but suffice it to say that the steak is excellent, as is the rest of the food, and the place itself is great. Got me there, mate. Do you know it by another name?

Thanks for your kind words. I love Korean food and recommend it to anybody looking for a very satisfying food experience. I have discovered the existence of another Korean place right near the Samurai Sushi restaurant; I'll certainly report on that place when I try it.
