  1. "Unusually Peter admits that he has received some complaints that drink prices are too low". Will you be adding porky pies to menu too, Pete? I also find it unusual that you admitted that.... Or will fuel prices and "public opinion" force prices up? Andy Cap
  2. Hi Pete Sorry that winglady and I have not been by for a wee while. We have been collecting trophies. We will come by tomorrow afternoon for sundowners with our birthday girl B. Good move on the ices - each niche should be studied. Think about some ices with a shot (or two) of alcohol on top for mongers like me - a nice afternoon alternative to beer or long drinks. When we ate last week in the evening we took Thai food - it was excellent - sapicey with good lip afterburn. You will succeed - just need to keep your eye on the ball - but you know that.... Chok dee Andy Cap
  3. And Winglady brought her own bat - nice DHD. Will give full story when have a moment take breath! Have discussed this around me and it seems this was a major departure from the norm.... left Thumbs Down in no doubt about my opinion I can tell you.... Bye for now - off to Bob's BBQ... Hi JK - only chip in outside the TR when something gets my goat..... Winglady now loves soi 6 (that walk of fame on day X with D2 did the trick) and she has rightly said that we will ask about BF at the door in future before ordering any dinks whatsoever. She's one of the guys now - and that's OFFICIAL... She doesn't fancy soapies - which of course means we will do.... Andy Cap
  4. Sat 24 May 17.30 Well it had to happen! Double barfine at THUMBS UP on soi 6, using the "you are two people using the room" even brought her own DHD!! Caveat emptor as they say in Essex. Mai pen rai Andy Cap
  5. Hi Alf and Tony Sorry not to have posted sooner on this thread to thank you for your gracious welcome on Sunday Thanks again! Andy Cap
  6. Thanks for your great reception on our 2 7pm visits Hammer. You are the excellent host. Seeeeee youuuuuu soooooooon. Andy Cap and Winglady
  7. Our comments in our TR tell it all Pete. The concept is spot on. In the afternoon your place is an oasis beach bar without having to get your feet wet. In the evening it is a good-value alternative to the overpriced "overlooking-the-sea" food venues on Walking Street. Food is top notch in our opinion and there was no wait in our two eats with you.... and so what, we're on fkin holiday not on a timetable WTF? P.S. Could you get rid of some of the more skanky mongers Andy Cap
  8. Thanks for the heads up on the party and the V-Day closure rightsaid - I and the winglady will pop in this evening. Tip us the wink on the lady-loving ladies if poss.... Cheers Andy Cap
  9. I dare say I and the rugmuncher will be there or thereabouts if all is well advertised.... Andy Cap
  10. Hi Pete Well done on the setting up - pics look great and looking forward to the location both afternoon and evening. 18 days to go!!!! Your promos are particularly well thought out I reckon - how long will they run for? Until "attendance" is as you would like?? (oops just re-read it says "until the end of May" - sounds good to me!) See you Thursday 15th! Best wishes for the launch Andy Cap
  11. WTF were you doing in my home town Sailfast? BTW I couldn't wait to get out either..... Andy Cap
  12. Here's my tuppence worth for any chefs reading - as I live in another place (France) that says it has the best food in the world - this means of course you can't get pork pies - certainly not Taylors Pork Pies from Darlington. I bring 20 back each trip to UK (about once a year) and freeze them. Then microwave from frozen for 3 mins on 500, oven is preheated to 200C and pop it in for 15 mins - comes out crisp!!!! Think I'll have one now...... I quite enjoyed the pork pie at the Queen Vic on soi 6 BTW. Other pies from that place on soi Diana/BUakhow corner - cheap and cheerful. Bored? Me too...... wheels up in exactly 3 weeks... Andy Cap
  13. Hi Pete Mrs Cap and I arrive in town 15th May mid-afternoon. It's her first visit to Pattaya so we will make our first stop your place to take in the view and the vibes... just drop the bags at Secrets and straight to you. Good luck with the opening Andy Cap
  14. And SOOOOO close to April 1st too! incl. "the butt of jokes" and "under aware" - these guys have been to journalism school.
  15. Girls please! Behave! Tropical Berts (daily rate) and LK (monthly rate) look great.
  16. Yeh not following either...... oh.... he's been banned.....fair do's...
  17. Good luck with the bar Fiend - that's an anagram of barfined! Careful!
  18. Oh shit! ....... it's a funny. Sorry I'm European and hadn't worked it out. Only have to read some of the replies to see that I wasn't alone. Thank Buddha someone saw sense and put it where it belongs.... wouldn't do to make a mistake like that.... indeed no. Andy Cap
  19. If it's only England people can always move to Wales or Scotland. Let them eat cake.... Lots of Poles too, does that mean the muslims will all have to become catholic? Hope so.... Thanks for the OP pilotman. I hadn't seen it but enjoyed it. Notice you don't have a flag - wise move. Shame to see how prickly people can be over a bit of fun. Andy Cap
  20. I think you will find pork scratchings on the street carts, no? There's certainly no shortage of pigs and pork and being nothing goes to waste.... My item to miss would be Taylors Pork Pies from Darlington. Took a quick Ryanair flight from Girona to Teesside last weekend and picked up 20 and stuck 'em in my bag - flight cost 16 euros return (great deal). No Fish and Chips here in France but in Pattaya there is the Pig and Whistle and in Jomtien Simon's (best I found) for a treat. Yorkshires are pretty good at any carvery Robins Nest, Pig and Whistle, Queen Vic - Nodelroh swore by them last trip (couldn't get enough - and that was just the Yorkshires!) That said - give me noodle soup or jim-jum with a cute TG doing the ordering any day.... Bon appetit Andy
  21. This is an excellent informative thread - thanks guys for the insights... Andy Cap
  22. Hi Gary If that was aimed at me - no I'm not selling them, I'm an English teacher in France. As to whether I'm an asshole, that's another question entirely and not for me to say... Would I recommend timeshares in general? - No. Do I regret buying mine? - No. As sickbuffalo says you usually can't choose where you want to swap to (we enter the dates when we can have holiday on RCI, see what's available and then say "why don't we go there"). As ILT says you end up going places you would never had thought of going. So it's not classic holidaymaking. We have only been once to the places we actually own so we don't have the meet up with old friends scene going like sailfast's parents. I also didn't say they were great - just that I work hard to get the most out of them. After ten years of ownership I have definitely got my initial investment back and can now certainly write that off (cost of similar accommodation for a family of four in 4 to 5 star luxury). So from now on it's just high quality hotel accommodation for as long as I can be arsed to pay the (in my case) low annual maintenance charge. But Zidane and fd are absolutely right - Thailand = no regulation, high maintenance charge(?), tied in. If I was to buy another I'd probably by a cheap online resale, double checking the maintenance charge is low and bank through RCI - no need to ever go there! Why would anyone buy timeshare in Thailand with such plentiful low cost high quality accommodation available? Andy Cap
  23. "Oops" on the cat!!!! And he never found Cyclone - the only night club I ever went to where the guys get in free and the girls have to pay...... Scored a tasty Ethiopian lady there on break from Saudi - she grabbed me two times running (three month gap and remembered my name!!). Third time called her mobile and she made a housecall to hotel - nice 3some with Mrs. Andy
  24. Website working - it does look rather nice. The no-no 300 bht 3rd person charge (oh that's only 6 euros per night but it would mount up if you were with your missus like me). Otherwise I would try it out - has all the facilities.
