  1. I agree with SoCal if your only flying once a year, but if your flying 2 or more times a year to LOS or to other destinations that will allow you to accumulate 25K miles then I prefer United. At the 25K level or Premier status you earn miles at the rate of 125% plus 4, 500 mile upgrade bonus for every 10K flown. At the 50K mile level or Premier executive, you earn 200% of the flown miles. At Premier status you are allowed to check in with the business class travelers and are also seated in the "economy plus" seats which have the same ass width as economy but provide an additional 5" of legroom and when available they will place you in a row that doesn't have a person next to you. 2. No website, but here's is their email: jinny_theholiday@hotmail.com I'm in their high roller room and the size is about twice that of the standard room at the Eastiny Place and Flipper House. They have 2 smaller type of rooms. Cost is 9,000 month/600 daily and 10,000 month/700 daily. I would guess that this place is less than 2 years old.
  3. Found this place by chance, an excellent place if your staying for any length of time. I have a very large room that overlooks the pool, daily rate is 1200 and the monthly is 12,000 plus electric and water. You get free house keeping only once a week, but can pay an additional 100 baht for each additional cleaning. I talked to a guy who's been there for 5 months and he said his last months costs were 1100 and 300 for electric and water. It's located between Soi Buakaow and 3rd Rd and is more suited for the punter with a girlfriend. Nicest room I've ever stayed in Pattaya and also the cheapest.
  4. pattaya mad, By January they should be doing mostly interior work on the new condo. There has been talk about another hotel being built next to the AA Residence and if they are doing pile driving, it will be very noisey.
  5. I saw an ad in my Sunday paper in the travel section that listed Bangkok for $600. That is out of SFO and doesn't include taxes or airport fees.
  6. I stayed there on my first 2 trips to Pattaya in 2001 and thought the place was in need of renovation as it's seen better days. The worst hotel that I've stayed on all my trips to Pattaya and the most that I've ever paid for a room. Good points are TG friendly, location, large room and nice view. On my last stay the bed was horrible and I had a sore back in the morning and if I remember correctly this hotel had the smallest TV's of any that I've stayed. Maybe they have updated the place in the last 3 years. I never let the hotel food be a part of my decision as there are numerous restaurant options in Pattaya. Emil
  7. I'm giving Jack the benefit of the doubt, after all he's not a member so he's limited on what he's allowed to post on this board. I seem to recall another boardmember posting about this restaurant a while back and gave it a positive review.
  8. Make sure your wearing a mask when your sitting in the judges chair or tell Pete to black out your face when he post the photos. The last thing you need is someone showing the school district photos of you having fun with some naked TG's.
  9. Could you please translate. I hope you figured out by reading the preceding phrase that the question regarding the type of format was not a serious question.
  10. and I thought I was behind on the technological curve. Do you need the Beta or VHS format.
  11. I'll send Alex.
  12. I am scheduled to arrive at 10:55 PM (2255) Should be finished with immigration and customs around 11:30 PM. Anyone interested in sharing a ride? Emil
  13. Larry, I had the impression that the maids didn't do a very good job of cleaning the rooms, you guys always talk about how you have to go out and bring a hoover back in the afternoon. Emil
  14. Maybe he got it from the Nana.
  15. Was that for a 5 baht gold necklace? Emil
  16. I bet she is very happy, that's one huge ring.
  17. If I were to L/T one of your fine ladies from your stable would I have to bring her back every night?
  18. Roland, Hadn't realized that you were such a big fan of the discos, would you be the one that I saw in Pattaya wearing the white suit? Underneath that mask are you Denny Terrio? Emil
  19. Hub, Awhile back I called up to cancel my United card because I didn't want to pay the annual fee. They told me that they would put me on another card with no fee but only earn 1 miles for every $2. I made the switch and just last month I got another call from that company asking me if I wanted to switch back to the fee card and they would give me 15K miles. I declined, but if they call again I'll go for it. Emil
  20. SoiBoy, How many miles do you need for a freebie. When I got my United visa they gave me 15K miles after my first purchase and 1 mile for each $ spent. They didn't give me any discount coupons or VIP passes though. I think my annual cost was either $50 or $60. Emil
  21. I stayed there for a few days in August. I moved because the bed I had was too hard for me and at that time they didn't have any other rooms. Don't know if the other rooms had softer beds. The daily rate was 650 and I didn't try to bargain since they were almost full but I would expect if you were going to stay for a period of time they would come down if not busy. Other than the hard bed it was a nice hotel about 2 years old with a pool and guest friendly. Just down the road from the Koieng Mansion. For 700 baht a night on the same soi but closer to Walking St in the Marine Yensabai Mansion which I recommend over White Rose, the reason I didn't stay there in the first place was they didn't have a vacancy. Emil
  22. Roy, How are the other two project progressing near you, the one next to the Charming Inn and the expansion of Mike's Orchid? Emil
  23. Unless these guys must stay in contact with their jobs, these guys have their priorties screwed up if they spend 2 hours a day on the net while on holiday in Pattaya. I stop by the internet shop about 5 times a week, check my emails, look at the ESPN website to keep up with American sports (severe lack of coverage on TV) and take a quick glance of the FLB board for a total of about 30 minutes a visit. Emil
  24. BR, I live in Sacramento so I only deal with them over the phone which is: 916-557-2888. I will look in the Sunday Travel section to see what they are showing for a fare from SFO to BKK. In the past these advertised fares have been with Cathay Pacific, JAL, EVA and United. If you want another airline they may have it a slighty higher rate. Emil
  25. Forever, I've noticed that if you stay with one airline on your trip the fare from your home airpot to either SFO or LAX is considerably cheaper than if you bought it seperate. As an example when I see an advertised fare from SFO to BKK it might be $650, when I tell the travel agent that I wish to fly out of Sacramento to SFO the price increases about $30. If I were to purchase a seperate R/T ticket from Sacramento to SFO, they want about $160. Emil
