good Hotel in the middle of the action
Emil replied to boubouzin's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
BigD, I timed it this past Sunday around noon and it was less than 2 minutes from Soi 7 to Walking St. Emil -
The walk and hill will be no problem for you, but very few BG's or GGG's will want to do it. Emil

This new construction is between the Dynasty and the Pattaya Beach Condo. 2 years ago I was staying at the Pattaya Center Hotel with a room facing Soi 12. There was construction work on Soi 13 and the noise fron the pile driving woke me up every morning around 7 AM. Emil

Dynasty Inn is in Pattaya on Soi 13 and only opened 3 weeks ago. Emil

I think he also makes a few baht on LDK when he's staggering back to his condo. ;D ;D Emil

bigdan, I posted the first review and the only thing that I can add is that they now have a small pool. The place is quest friendly and is located on Soi Yensabai, less than a 10 minute walk to FLB. I prefer the Marine Yensabai to the Koenig as its closer to FLB and the upper floors have a nice view and the room have balconies, but no pool. Emil

Just opened this year. If you like the Buffalo Bar, you'll be just a few minutes walk to it. Another hotel is being built right next door so there could be some noise. Emil

Dynasty Inn - Pattaya..... any info??
Emil replied to Zeus's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I now have the rate sheet and can give more info. Their email is innhousegroup@yahoo.com. Inn House is directly across from the Sandy. The missing room rate is 1000, 5,500 and 15,000. The utility rates for the monthly stay is: electricity 6 baht/unit and water 25 baht/unit. Don't have a clue what a unit equals. The rooms are identified as: Single/Twin, Seaview/Delux, Suite and Seaview Suite. I wanted the Seaview/Delux but they were full. They put me in the Seaview Suite and closed off the other half of the room and charged me the Seaview/Delux rate. The seaview Suite is basically 2 seperate hotel rooms with the adjoining door. So basically the suite has an additional bathroom and an area that has chairs and table instead of a bed. No in room safe but they did have one drawer in the closet that had a key to lock up some of your stuff. No pool to be built but a restuarant will be soon. No noise at night. Emil -
Dynasty Inn - Pattaya..... any info??
Emil replied to Zeus's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
For those who wanted more info on Inn House, Only have phone # and Fax on business card. Tel (038) 415 709-16 Fax (038) 415 717 They have 4 different room plans and I have the rate of the 3 cheapest. day week month 600 3500 10500 800 4500 11900 1200 7000 17500 The monthly rates require you to pay for electricity and water and maid service is only twice a week. These rate are effective through Sep, then their high season rates kick in. However I would guess that if they are having trouble filling up the rooms you might be able to negoiate a deal. They do charge 200 baht if you bring back more than 1 TG. My room was not the largest but a decent size. No tub, but large shower. Large frig that is only stocked with 2 bottles of complimintary water/day. Remote controls for TV and A/C. I would have stayed their for the month if they had a pool. No restaurant now, but will have one later. No problem unless you require room service because Sportsman accross the Soi and AA Residence buffet next door for the chow hounds. I just prewied my post and the number 8 should where you see the smiley. Emil -
Dynasty Inn - Pattaya..... any info??
Emil replied to Zeus's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I'm in Pattaya now and the Dynasty Inn opened the 23rd. I talked to the front desk and they told me 990 a night with a 10% discount on longer stays. No pool, but you could always go to Mike's Mall up the Rd. Another hotel that just opened on the same Soi 2 month ago is the Inn House. Good discount on a weeks stay and even better on a month. Let me know if you want more info. Emil -
The last time I flew to LOS on Thai Air, it was a direct flight, however on the stop in Narita they made us depart the plane. Those of us continuing to Bangkok were directed in a path through the terminal and through security to the gate where others were waiting to board. When it came time to board, we were boarded first. Soi 7, What are you drinking. ??? That's a period after 19 not a comma. What's Mark doing staying in Bangkok, does he want to shop at one of those large Gem stores without you harrassing him. ;D Emil

rhino, If your looking to save some baht, Thai Limo used to have a mini bus that made the trip around that time for 200 baht. Emil
-
partyanimal, There are many advertised taxis, from Pattaya to the airport on 2nd Rd from 750-800. Emil

I took a look at your questionaire and I didn't see any questions that were inappropriate for this site if posted on the members area, in fact most could appear on the open area. Didn't answer because as soon as I land I'm on my way to Pattaya. One suggestion on your questionaire, I would change the cost categories from USD to baht to make it easier for the non US tourist to answer your questionaire and to reduce the range of each choice. Emil

Turbo, If you don't need a pool the Bella Vista which is near the Pig and Whistle should be around 700. All the other hotels in that area, Eastiny Inn, Eastiny Place, Flipper Lodge, Flipper House, and Sunshine should be around 700-800 for a standard room. I'll be there next week and let you know of anything that looks attractive. Emil
-
Julian, I can answer your question. Gannon is departing from LAX, but I'm sure that Cathay offers this special from the airports they service in North America. Besides LAX, they fly out of SFO, New York, Toronto and I believe Vancover. Check their website to be sure. Emil
-
Derek, I'll be there in less than a week. Some of those hotels deals that you see that are stay 7 pay for 5, you wind up paying their standard rate for the 5 nights. Other hotels will just discount the daily rate when you walk in. With the exception of my first 2 trips, when I wasn't familar with Pattaya, I have paid less than 700 baht a night. What type of rate are you looking for and any particular area. Emil

Saw an ad in this mornings paper. Purchase 2 or more R/T tickets by 24 Aug, depart between 9/2/03 and 11/30/03 and return by 12/10/03. An example fare given in the paper was $538 + taxes and airport fees from Sacramento to Bangkok. Anyone in the Sacto area interested in going for 30 days around the end of this promotion? This deal include domestic and international flights. Emil

Any 500 Baht Hotels in November?
Emil replied to saigon_butterfly's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I was in Pattaya this past November and only paid 650 a night at Eastiny Place, although my stay began late October. Have you tried the Sawasdee Hotel group, they have weekly rates of 2850 & 3450. There are many hotel just of Walking Street that charge anywhere from 300-600 baht a night. Emil -
Cathay Pacific Offers Bangkok for August Deal
Emil replied to bigdelta's topic in Airline Discussion
SB, Normally 1 hour isn't bad, but you'll have to clear immigration and customs, hopefully you won't have any checked luggage. Emil -
Soi 7, I flew LAX-BKK direct, not non stop, this past May. My flight was with UA using 60k miles, Sacramento to BKK. The SOB's routed me Sacramento to LAX ( United Express) with a 6 hour layover before I headed to Narita on Thai Air. The return flight was all the way with United and it was through SFO. Emil
-
I looked at a room of the hotel located on Soi Buakaow. The price was right at 11,000 baht a month, 3450 a week, but for me, I prefer a hotel with at least another star. Emil
-
Just a clarification of terms. Direct flight - Will make stops, but you remain with the same aircraft. Non Stop flight. One take off and landing. 747-400ER entered service 2002 and has a range of 7670 nautical miles. 777-200ER has a range of 7730 nautical miles. 777-200LR has a range of 8,865 nautical miles. 777-300ER has a range of 7,250 nautical miles. One thing we have to remember is even with an aircraft with a range that can accomodate SFO to BKK a demand to fill up the aircraft would be needed before they offered that service. The last time I flew direct from LAX to BKK on Thai Air about half the passengers departed at Narita. Emil
