  1. Thanks for the review. Great pics. Did the oysters have the desired effect on your lady friend?
  2. Thanks for the review and pics. I've considered staying there with my TG on a future Pattaya visit. Are there no local restaurants or shops close by? More pics of the room and bathroom for review would be appreciated. If you want to include your companion in the supersize tub, that would be great too.
  3. I've walked by that place many times but never stopped for a meal. Those steaks look really good. And the prices are very good for Pattaya. I think I will try it on my next visit to Pattaya. Nice rack behind the chips and salsa.
  4. Wonderful review as always, Evil. Can you get a decent glass of wine or a good bottle at Mama's?
  5. Wow! It makes staying in the Aloft seem more attractive.
  6. Thanks for all those pictures. They are great. I agree Chez Pape is excellent French food. The Tapas place is also excellent with some great tapas and Spanish wines and sangria....great value. And if you like fish and chips Snapper is the best I've ever eaten.....fabulous fish and excellent chips and none of it greasy. That sub-soi has some great places to eat.
  7. Great photos. Thanks for posting. I've enjoyed the Fuji in the Big C mall more often than the Central Festival one. I had a terrible experience in the latter a couple of years ago as I completely froze in the place because of their crazy air-con. This was beyond normal Thai cold. The food was great but cold food isn;t all that enjoyable if your body is frozen.
  8. The restaurant at Ma Maison is good but they have really jacked up the prices in the last couple of years. The value is not as good as before. As for Sandy Spring, I was given one of the 'suites' on the 6th floor about 18 months ago but I insisted on changing to the real suites on the 8th as soon as one was available. So I spent 2 nights on the 6th and 4 on the 8th. The suites on the 8th are better furnished and they have a real bathroom with separate shower and bath. And, because they are higher, they have a better view.
  9. Nice pics. When I spent a week at VT6 in November I liked to go next door to the supermarket near that food court and get stuff for a romantic dinner on the balcony with my TG. It was a great location.
  10. I bought the 2013 version of this guide and its not worth a pint. For anyone who's made one visit to Pattaya and/or read this and other boards for a few months, there's not much in this book that is going to tell you anything new.
  11. England can book their flight home for June 25.
  12. Have you considered selling through Bangkok Books? They have a collection of similar material that they sell as e-books so they may have an existing clientele who would be interested in your book. I've bought some books from them but otherwise know nothing about their operation. Just a suggestion.
  13. Martin, the problem is that what's left is a false lead-in on the forum thread list. I often click on a thread because it has photos. When I get there and find there are no photos I feel conned or ripped off. This isn't a problem unique to this board. I think mods of boards should consider deleting the whole thread if the pics that are the focus of the thread are removed. That way browsers don't waste their time opening threads whose purpose has evaporated. Just a suggestion.
  14. To answer your original question, I have flown in that class from Taipei to Toronto on the way home from LOS. It is by far the best business class lie flat bed I have experienced. Its design has it narrowing below your knees, not at your gut or shoulder like many other pod designs. It feels spacious and comfortable and the orientation away from the aisles gives you a feeling of more privacy. Get a window seat and you'll have a great view as you are oriented toward the windows, not away from them.....very nice when you are awake, very comfortable when you are asleep. Eva's new business cla
  15. Evil, thanks for the great photo report which brought back some very pleasant memories. Thai sell upgrades at the gate and when I was working I used to buy those to bump to First on BKK-FRA and LHR. It was a nice treat. I'd get to the airport 2 hours ahead, buy the u/g and then ask for a massage in the spa TG operate at BKK. They have a beautiful spa and the full body massage is truly first class. But no happy endings on offer. I'd also get a double order of caviar to start with the chilled vodka and then move on to Dom Perignon. It's a great way to travel but those pleasant a
  16. I am also interested in the isolated beach question. Is it not possible to find such a beach with a speedboat somewhere close to but beyond Koh Larn? I thought I read on the board many years ago it was possible to get a boat to drop you off at a remote beach, do some nude swimming and have the boat return at an assigned time to pick you up. I'd be interested if any Pattaya residents or other BMs could enlighten us on this question. I'm sure the OP would also be interested in the answer.
  17. Great pics! I wonder about the onboard service on Happy Air?
  18. That's the idea. More construction contracts, more money to cut up. It has nothing to do with aesthetics. Its just about dividing up the cash.
  19. This thread is somewhat mis-named. EPL on NBC may be big but it's not news even if the Miami Herald thinks it is. This deal was made in 2012, over 6 months ago. And the answer to my own earlier question, for any Canadians interested, is that TSN has the rights for most EPL games for 3 years beginning with the 2013-14 season. The benefit of Google.
