What's the rate from BKK to Pattaya and vice-versa?

I noticed recently on their website that they have jacked the rates on suites by 300 Baht/night and 200 Baht on rooms. They may be past the tipping point on value.

Very interesting analysis. As some-one who stays at the Sandy Spring when in Pattaya I think the Avenue was a great addition. I like the easy access to quality farang food at the Villa supermarket. I did initially enjoy the massage place on the top floor but alas it is gone. You fail to mention the Wine Connection which is also a major asset close to my hotel of choice. Is that store still there and will it survive? I couldn't agree with you more on the stupidity of covering every square inch every evening with shitbox stalls.

How does a guy as obsessively Baht conscious as you afford a smart phone? Seems like an extravagance. Almost as bad as ST for 1,500 Baht or flying business class.

When PL started I wrote a note to a Mod asking for upper level status as I had been on this board for many years and other Pattaya boards as well. That was granted. I posted occasionally and read the board regularly. Earlier this summer mulphy decided to go on some kind of clean-up of the board and evicted people with security access to some of it. It's great that it's about to open. I would take the 'normal' price with a grain of salt. The promotional price is a little higher than you get at the Hilton in BKK and I can't see Pattaya sustaining prices higher than Bangers. I'm interested in a report from some-one who has actually used the new service. The Hong Kong train is excellent. You can wheel your luggage right to the train from the baggage carousel using a buggy. And at the other end they have buggies waiting on the platform so you can wheel your luggage from the train to the taxi stand. And at the intown stations you can check-in your bags and get boarding passes right their so you board the train and get to you gate,etc with only your carry on. If BKK can do the same at Makkasan it will be a good service. I'd use it if I could wheel my lugga

That's a great find. It would be good if you gave us a full trip report on your Aerosvit experience if you use them in October. It would be nice to see a couple of photos inside the plane, seat, meals, etc. Maybe even a review of the flight attendants.

Sorry, I missed the 'sharing' in your prior post. I actually saw it at the last moment and tried to stop my post but I guess I was too late. As others have pointed out sharing would be an interesting negotiation.....how much does the guy getting the palatial master suite pay and how much does the guy in the closet pay? Maybe you pay housekeeping to change the sheets daily and trade bedrooms. I still think the price is very steep for what your getting even though the place is nice. That place should be about $2,000 for a month.

What dollar are you using? It's more like $100-110/night. Looks like a nice place but $100/night for a month, $150/night for two weeks is a bit steep.

To answer my original question Something Mega is just fucking online shopping, nothing to do with flying. I'm still hoping they will start using their new computer system to offer through fares i.e. two legs thru BKK on one ticket. Their PR crap about the new system says they can do it. I wish they'd start.
