thats outrageous dude. i don't know prices there, but i'd imagine something around 500-1000 usd to be more realistic for a decent very nice 2-3bd house, even if only for a month or 2 rental.

Good points guys. whatever type of power strip or surge protector one buys, you should always make sure that it claims to do what is intended (surge protection) if that is your requirement.

generally speaking, yes. power strips for the most part all have surge protection built in.

I wouldn't worry about any power surges with my netbook. If I had a serious setup that i traveled with, maybe i would consider some extra protection such as a travel surge protector:

I did this. Saw a bunch of different temples, went to see the elephants, tigers, etc. Was a good time, but like the other guys said, i was in the damn taxi (going to and returning)probably longer than at the attractions themselves. Great many things to see in addition to the "nightlife" while in LOS.

The site says they're having a mouth sizzling chili cook-off. That sounds very appealing , although not a hot dog contest. I think i'd rather go to this event in BKK than ANY event here in the states on July 4th

That $679 is all in. these specials are from LAX, SFO and JFK to BKK. Travel July 1-Nov 30, purchase by June 28th.

on the Singapore Air site, the $481 states that it is (taxes and surcharges).

That's a great fare, it seems to be the same from LAX as well. Only problem is no FF miles eligibility for those flights/prices. Oh well, i guess you gotta trade in one benefit for the other.

that is a dramatic decrease for sure from LAX to BKK . That sucks though about not giving the flyer mile points though . I've been checking on Cathay Pacific and seems they have some good deals as well.

not everybody gets 500 baht LT's that last a week , some of us pay a tad more maybe not quite 3000 though
