Flying a drone in Pattaya......
forcebwithu replied to Al_Davis's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Another good video from this guy's channel. If nothing else, he has some beautiful background scenery. -
I'm sitting at BKK now after another safe ride with one of Nam's drivers. Excellent service. She arrived about 30 minutes early, which I appreciate as I'd rather have the driver wait for me than me wondering if they're going to show if they try to show up exactly on time. Got my first ride ever in an EV too. Her car was a BYD model.

I remember reading somewhere that tremors from quakes are directional in nature. Google AI confirmed my memory. -
Earthquake in Myanmar - affects in Thailand
forcebwithu replied to keyman's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
When you see videos of high rise pools sloshing water back and forth during an earthquake, that's a good thing as long as a person doesn't get tossed over the side of a building along with the water. -

Another article about the building and companies behind the construction. From the article, "He reported that the structure was about 30% complete and had resumed construction after delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic." There was a video posted elsewhere that showed the guy getting ejected from the cab shortly after the crane tore away from the building. RIP to the guy. -

Just a heads-up to the board admin
forcebwithu replied to Bruce Mangosteen's topic in Technical problems or questions.
Odd post, I never said or even alluded to you making up or fabricating the problem? It happens that some problems are local to the user's location, which may be the case this time. -

Not seeing that message when I click on the link. Could have been a temp glitch, or if you're still seeing it, perhaps a problem local to your computer or ISP. -
Bicycle rent Pattaya area
forcebwithu replied to Max2025's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
In no particular order, here are links to Pattaya area bike shops. I didn't check to confirm if they all rent bikes, but it's a good starting point for your search. https://www.facebook.com/CycleHubThailand/ https://www.facebook.com/Svbikepattaya/ https://www.facebook.com/easternbikeshop/?ref=page_internal https://www.facebook.com/cadencecyclepattaya/ Here's a topic on area bike paths and routes. -

From what I've seen, traffic on Soi SCC and Khao Noi is backed up early morning heading in, and late afternoons heading out as people make their way to and from work I would guess. -

I was surprised to see a tour bus pull into Tree Town last night. In hindsight I should have followed it in to see where it intended to disgorge it's full load of tourists. Coincidently I had been sitting earlier at Nikom with friends and had commented about the lack of tour buses trying to make their way through Khaos Korner. Pre-Covid it was a regular sight. -
Pic from yesterday's hash run. The area is west of Rugby School Thailand. Large swaths of brush have been intentionally burned off throughout the area. No idea why the Thai do this as the areas they burned were not cropland. The area to the right in the pic below is one such area that had been set alight.

My lady is at a wedding in Bangkok and she sent me this video of the air pollution around noon today.

I was out on a hash run yesterday afternoon. On elevated portions of Hwy 7 on the way out we got a good view of how bad the pollution layer was around Pattaya and the surrounding areas. The trail cut across the northern side of Khao Mai Keao. On trail the smell of smoke was heavy in the air. We could also hear the crackle of flames in the distance. Once we got to the NW side of KMK we saw the source of the smoke and sound of the fire. The govt needs to enforce burn bans and vehicle/industrial emissions. Until they do, it's just paying lip service every year to the increasing probl

I currently have the Sharp FP-F3061-C air purifier which is fine for my 25 sqm home office, but I've decided it's time I splurge on another purifier for our master bedroom. I bought another Sharp, but this one is large enough for our large master bedroom. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/sharp-fu-a80ta-w-62-i8727192.html

It's a bad day in Pattaya. Really hazy. Knew it was going to be a bad one as I woke up in the wee hours due to a strong smell of smoke. Some idiot nearby was probably doing an illegal burn of garbage/brush under the cover of darkness and the strong inversion layer trapped the smoke and smell at ground level. Had to close up the windows in the bedroom and turned on the air purifier. My lady and I have lingering lung congestion from our bout of flu/cold two weeks ago. Her's is worse than mine. I suspect the continued congestion we're experiencing is due to the bad air pollution.

The fruit and vegetable stand that was on Buakhao near Soi 19 has moved around the corner and about 50m up Soi 19. -
An oldie, but goodie.

Another, don't breathe air day in Pattaya. PM2.5 reading in my home office when I woke up was 102. Since I'm recovering from the cold/flu virus going around and my respiratory system is operating at less than 100%, I'll be skipping this morning's bike ride.
